Red Line: Expect delays in both directions because of track inspections between Dupont Circle and Woodley Park following a report of a fire outside Dupont Circle.

UPDATE: Red Line: Trains are single-tracking between Dupont Circle and Van Ness because of an earlier fire outside Dupont Circle. Customers will continue to experience delays in both directions. Some trains will offload at Farragut North to minimize train traffic.

Over the weekend, crews rehabilitated grout pads on the Red & Green lines & repaired the safety walk on the Red Line. Safety walks provide a dedicated space on both sides of the track for crews to work safely & efficiently, supporting more reliable service for customers.

Today, we were joined by MWAA, Arlington County, & National Landing to discuss the #CrystalCityproject that starts this weekend & will close National Airport station on select dates. Free shuttles will replace trains to & from impacted stations all 10 wknds of the project. 🧵

This coming weekend, free shuttle buses will replace trains between Pentagon City and National Airport on the Blue and Yellow lines. Crystal City station will be closed. In addition, trains will single track on the Red Line between Silver Spring and Forest Glen. Learn more: wmata.com/weekend

In response to feedback, we are updating the way we communicate bus delays related to operator availability. Instead of describing the cause, we will now focus on the estimated timing for resolution. For example, customers may see “expect delays until 9:05 a.m.” (1/2)
