I hope that you

Scientists: have you been the target of an online harassment campaign, doxxing, or weaponized FOIA requests? I'd like to talk to you about steps you had to take to protect your digital security for an upcoming Nature story. (You can be anonymous if necessary.)

RTs appreciated.

If I can finish rewriting this paper tonight, do the dishes, finish the laundry, and pack in the morning, then I can grade on the plane/in the airport and NOT HAVE TO THINK ABOUT WORK FOR FOUR AND A HALF DAYS.

This is caused by adults not maintaining their pertussis (whooping cough) vaccines.

You should be getting a Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis) vaccine every 10 years.

We have a baby coming in the family (my first grand nephew!), so my husband and I both got vaccinated this week.

Writing "careful diet" about a guy who literally eats roadkill is proof positive that so long as you look thin, your diet will be praised as sensible and healthy.

It's all about portion control with rotting meat from the side of the road, I guess. 🫠

It's insane to stop research on these conditions.

At some point maybe men will start trying harder to understand that.

a) these changes illustrate how the “smartness” in what’s framed as an individual smart or dumb choice (your major/grad degree) is determined by structural factors in how they’re rewarded, not their intrinsic value
b) the illustration’s especially stark when those structural factors change overnight
The DoE has reclassified numerous health professional and other degrees, limiting access to federal student loan programs eligible for the higher OBBBA loan caps from thousands to a few hundred.

As ALWAYS, this is about $$.

We're about to become REALLY "great"...

Leslie makes an incredibly important point. The systems that we currently rely on for abortion access are incredibly fragile and largely rely on a weird mix of legal gray area and massive volunteer efforts. We should pay attention to what is happening in the Philippines. We could easily be next.
Mail-based systems of medication abortion access - also a very important part of the current US abortion landscape - are so fragile. A lot of people are suffering and going to suffer from this collapse of one of the only ways to get a safe abortion in the Philippines.
