Which leads me to reason #2. I think this is happening to Black users in particular bc something about Black people remaining, if not calm at least relatively level-headed at a time that has *them* so deeply panicked and afraid, DEEPLY bothers them. My dad explained this to me maybe 3 times between the ages of 9-12 on road trips down south. When I retained absolutely none of this knowledge he just like…gave up? Like had already labeled me as directionally challenged? He was right but still a repeated map or several would’ve helped.
Bonus: Route numbers increase as you head east and north. Route numbers divisible by five service and connect major cities. Three-digit routes are auxiliary roads to the route that shares its last two digits; an even first number is a beltway, an odd first number is a spur.
If you are ever lost in the U.S interstate highway system, any odd numbered highway means you are going north and south, even means you are going east and west. A 3 digit number most likely means you are in a loop in or around the outskirts of a city.
