Don't worry, Iron Man (me) has quit smoking.
Due to poor scheduling and lots of research I needed to do, I find myself at a screening for THE RUNNING MAN, the only Stephen King adaptation this year I hadn’t read first.

The Welcome to Derry Episode 3 cemetery scenes seem to be the dividing line amongst fans who are so distracted by floating ghoul children and iffy green screen comping that they can’t attempt to see what the show was going for.

I’m wondering if updating a dry erase board that says “Today I’m Mad At ___________” daily would make me feel better.

Judging from the emails being sent to @fitwr.bsky.social this week, AI has gotten really good at summarizing over 10 years of podcast episodes. I think these PR pitches are real fans until they’re like “my finance client would make a great guest”

Cool. Cool.
It was nice having savings for a little bit there, but I need healthcare so fuck me I guess!

I dunno, WELCOME TO DERRY is at least as fun as a Stranger Things. I'm kind of worried that the mediocre reviews from people who saw the first five have something to do with episodes 3 and 5, because the first three have been absolutely fine. It's great to be fine.

PREDATOR: BADLANDS is probably the perfect movie to watch at noon on a Friday. It is at its heart a movie about hanging out with a disabled lesbian in a toxic yuri situation with her evil twin sister

FRANKENSTEIN is on Netflix starting today! You should watch it so we can disagree about it.

On one hand, KILL BILL: THE WHOLE BLOODY AFFAIR is something I've been promised for 20 years and denied by not living in Los Angeles, of course I want to see it. On the other hand, is there something I've missed in the traditional Kill Bill experience, which I had several times in those 20 years?

A lot more “the allegations against Michael Jackson were never proved” people on the internet today than I was expecting for a first trailer drop.

The @fitwr.bsky.social episode that Katey, Patches, and I did live for the DENVER FILM FESTIVAL is coming to your feeds! People came out to see us! It was great! You can hear it (and me fail at making a hard pivot into a romance movie for a person who didn't like The Departed) for yourself today!

As many have pointed out, Mamdani didn't stand apart from our trans brothers and sisters. He didn't play the "Gee, gosh, it sure is complicated," milquetoast moderate card. And he crushed.

The way forward is together, not over the bodies of our own.

Bruce Dern pays tribute to Diane Ladd:

“Diane was a tremendous actress and I feel like, a bit of a ‘hidden treasure’ until she ran into David Lynch. When he cast her as Laura‘s mom in Wild at Heart it felt like the world then really understood her brilliance."

The audiobook Diane Ladd and Laura Dern recorded together, Honey Baby Mine, is an absolute dream of mother daughter bonding and frank conversations. I felt like I got to sneak in on their incredibly special relationship, and that makes this feel like an even more acute loss.
