My child will never hold office because of this account. Fluent in cursing and sarcasm. Connoisseur of crappy candy.
I’m glad so many people are speaking out - athletes, celebrities, even Republicans. But why wasn’t Renee Good’s murder enough? Why didn’t they speak out then? Some did but most didn’t. With no accountability for the first, the second was inevitable.

NEW: There are 2,400+ elections for DA & sheriff this year.

These matter hugely to criminal justice & policing—including: *these are often officials who decide ICE collaboration.*

So I took a dive into these 2,400+ races to identify early hotspots and battlegrounds.

Read, & check out our maps:
In Criminal Justice Elections This Year, ICE Contracts Are on the Hot Seat - Bolts
With roughly 2,400 elections for prosecutor and sheriff this year, Bolts reviews the map and early hotspots that will shape criminal punishment and law enforcement practices.

Pediatric doctor alerts of the dire consequences of ICE operations in Minnesota. Parents are scared to death of their children being abducted that they do not dare to take them to the hospital despite their degraded health. This creates a severe general health concern for all.

If Democrats are negotiating, I hope they force the rehiring of the immigration judges the administration has fired. They also need to do something about the abuse and neglect occurring at the detention facilities. @chrismurphyct.bsky.social

End qualified immunity.
Per this analysis from the infamous lefty rag the Wall Street Journal, it sounds like a single CBP/ICE officer emptied his magazine into Alex Pretti as he lay pinned to the ground.

> "system crash” deleted nearly two weeks of surveillance footage from inside the facility

that's not how anything works they're lying and destroying evidence hope that helps
And what is happening inside ICE detention centers? 404 Media also learned that the federal government claimed that the day after it was sued for allegedly abusing detainees at an ICE detention center, a “system crash” deleted nearly two weeks of surveillance footage from inside the facility.
ICE Says Critical Evidence In Abuse Case Was Lost In 'System Crash' a Day After It Was Sued
The government also said "we don't have resources" to retain all footage and that plaintiffs could supply "endless hard drives that we could save things to."

We need to clamor for that even if the votes aren't there—yet.

Bovino: “ICE are the victims”
January 25, 2026 at 11:11 PM
The reason ICE was in that neighborhood yesterday? They were looking for someone who had misdemeanor traffic violations about a decade ago; no felony convictions. Alex Pretti was murdered because Trump’s thugs were looking for someone who exceeded the speed limit 9 years ago.
Things are so bad that the Minnesota prison system has had to launch a website specifically to combat DHS lies. The first major release from DOC officials suggests Gregory Bovino outright lied about the target of the Border Patrol operation during which agents shot and killed Alex Pretti.

CBP chief Bovino has confirmed that the officers who executed Alex Pretti in the street yesterday are not only *not on administrative leave,* they have all been reassigned to other jurisdictions and are all on the street today.

This is totally unheard of for any officer-involved shooting

It is NOT ‘heated rhetoric’ or ‘turning up the temperature, to make an observation that the Trump administration is creating situations similar to situations created by the Nazis.

If you want people to stop comparing you to Nazis, stop acting like fucking Nazis.

What‘s really enraging to me about Alex Pretti’s death is that is was completely unnecessary. Videos show the federal agent instigating the altercation when he pushed the woman to the ground for filming him. A life lost because some hot head is juiced up on irresponsible rhetoric from leadership.
January 25, 2026 at 11:46 PM
Alex Pretti’s murder is the natural consequence of leadership (Trump, Miller, Noem, Vance, Bovino) that sends the message from the top: it’s an existential fight; it’s an invasion; your fellow citizen is the enemy. So miss me with all the “both sides need to bring down the temperature”.
Donald Trump routinely encouraged his followers at rallies to "knock the crap out of" anyone who protested him. So his current policy in Minneapolis to kill people who protest him is the logical next step to that deeply damaged, fragile mindset.

Most of this year's ICE budget comes from last year's reconciliation bill. House Democratic leaders discouraged its members from offering amendments eliminating that funding. Didn't want the party to come across as anti-ICE.
