Just stop approving more pollution!

Extraordinary insight from former Adelaide Writers’ Week director Jo Dyer — Malinauskas killed Adelaide Festival, he is solely to blame for this disaster, for the international embarrassment and for the major economic losses. All this to serve Apartheid Israel.

The sky is tinged pink as Victorians literally breathe in our cremated land and wildlife. I feel so sad and angry on days like these and all I can think of is the NW Shelf extension approval, the new coal and gas projects, the absolute cowardice and contempt of Australian governments on climate.

In 2026 let’s normalize masking for public health.

If we could admit that with healthcare being gutted, vaccine access restricted and previously eradicated diseases coming back… having an extra layer like a respirator makes good sense.

Let’s also normalize not mocking people who mask!

Because the fossil fuel industry talking point of "We're just little humble neutral suppliers meeting the demand asked of us" is making a comeback, please consider the words of a senior exec at one of America's largest gas suppliers:

You could be a climate and/or political refugee tomorrow. No matter how safe you feel right now. That’s how fast the world is changing.

Act with that in mind—toward yourself, and towards others.

I walked past a pop-up calendar shop at the shopping centre this afternoon and an old guy was saying angrily to the very confused young shop assist "Leunig calendar! No, no, Leunig!" Should I have told him?

Two reasons why market forces can’t save the climate and environment. Firstly, climate and environmental damage are costs not captured by the market. Secondly, the fossil carbon (and now also tech) oligarchy has enough wealth and power to reshape the political economy away from the free market 1/

For what it's worth, Resolve is not even a member of the Australian Polling Council 🤷🏼‍♀️
Badly worded poll published by the SMH, which implies that it’s more costly overall/less affordable to reach net zero. Verging on a push poll.

Despite this, a majority of Australians still support net zero.
