Bikes, Chicago, accessible postsecondary education, music. "Better to light a candle than to curse the darkness."
Walking into the office today I saw this marquee and I had a ticket before I sat down at my desk. THIS is the city living I dreamed of when I was 15, in the middle of nowhere, living off mix tapes from pen pals.

Contribute to Michael Rabbitt's legal defense fund- he and the other five Chicagoans facing federal charges for protesting ICE need us all to stand shoulder to shoulder.
I've known Michael for some time and he is a great guy. Every contribution helps. Fuck ICE.
One of the 6 Broadview protesters that were indicted recently is my 45th Ward Dem Committeeman @michaelrabbitt.bsky.social . I've met him before- he's a good guy and someone who truly cares about the neighborhood and its residents. Donate to his legal defense fund and fuck ICE.

That’s why I need to ask everyone in Illinois for a favor.

Contact your elected officials TODAY and tell them to stand with the people — not ICE — for a press conference demanding transparency + legality this Friday at 1930 Beach Street, 9AM.

to ensure that the Chicago zoning committee is not just hearing from NIMBYs about the upcoming Broadway upzoning vote, we need people who want more housing along that major transit & small business corridor to speak up on July 15, 2025

When people break the law, and their actions are righteous and appropriate, we should applaud them. When people abide by or enforce the law, and their actions are repugnant, we should condemn them. We should never pretend the law is a moral dividing line.

A mere SixTEEN YEARS in the making- learned a lot on this one and did my first ever hand quilting. I'm really pleased and so is my dear husband, the newly-cozy recipient #quiltsky

My longest-running WIP and first hand quilting attempt- the center medallion is a mola we bought in Panama in 2009. The teeny stitches that artist made are very impressive/intimidating. It's cool to feel like I'm collaborating with her. #quiltsky

A source of delight I have been giving myself since 2020: a print club subscription to Starshaped Press. Each month I get a small bundle of local art, suitable for sharing, and I have an excuse to send a letter to somebody I love. www.starshaped.com
