So if your work touches on EDI tag us please! There's too much out there to be searching it.
Your correspondent has been let out of the office to attend the Black Heritage Voices conference in Leicester today.
Held at the Jewry Wall Museum, which I thought would have something to do with Jewish history of some kind, but really doesn’t. It’s medieval jury spelling and is all Roman history!

“Senior authors shamed me in front of group for asking for recognition (trying not to be a female-doormat stereotype backfires pretty much every time I have tried...)”.

Anyone interested in learning about why journals make a proactive effort to increase women's participation in the peer review process should take the time look at some actual evidence about why this is needed. Ditto journalists covering such a story. Do some reporting! www.nature.com/articles/s41...
Women are credited less in science than men - Nature
The difference between the number of men and women listed as authors on scientific papers and inventors on patents is at least partly attributable to unacknowledged contributions by women scientists.

What's the difference between co-design and co-production?
In our seminar on 2 October, Prof McDowall explained:

Co-design
- Collaborative approach
- Often used in public health
- Shapes research questions, methods & outcomes

Alt: an odd green cartoon character with a wide toothy closed mouth, two short legs, two short arms holds a bottle of strawberry juice in one hand and a bottle of blueberry in the other and looks indecisively between the two.

A worthy thread on science being a team sport and importance of telling the real story
We can remember Goodall’s accomplishments and legacy while recognizing that National Geographic created a narrative that erased the local people who contributed to her research. Her African colleagues deserve to be credited, not erased (10/10).

“Mentorship enables men & women in STEM to excel. Sponsorship shines light on this excellence, ensures this excellence is seen. ⚠️ Chinese researchers have invented bone glue that mimics how oysters stick to surfaces underwater.
