the only reason i’m not completely losing my mind over what has happened at OU

is because

of what has already been happening at public K-12 schools for years

they’ve *been* purging trans folks from academia since the rise of LibsOfTikTok

you’re only paying attention now because of a news cycle

If it's true, if the US is willing to allow borders to be redrawn by force and let aggressors be rewarded, then the gates of hell are about to be opened.

This may prove to be the single most destabilizing and conflict-spawning decision of the 21st century.

A truly Black Friday.

The legal, media, and academic institutions capitulating to an authoritarian ordering payments for favorable treatment are damning themselves to irrelevance. They are destroying their institutions. They will be — and should be — shunned for failing in their most basic purposes for existing.
BREAKING: Northwestern University has agreed to pay the U.S. Treasury $75 million, over the course of three years as part of an agreement with the federal government to restore funding and end investigations into the university

That’s 1000+ excess dead children every day. Every day.

The Trump regime is disappearing people to indefinite detention in third countries they’ve never been to, often giving them no chance to contest their deportation and breaking U.S. and international law.

Cruelty and inhumanity beyond belief.

Before the midterms of 1866, President Andrew Johnson called his congressional opponents traitors and said they should be hanged.

Voters were so profoundly moved by his words... that they gave his opponents a supermajority in Congress, and the nation got the Fourteenth Amendment.

This is both incredibly horrifying and entirely unsurprising. It is horrifying that a president would call for the death of his political foes. But completely unsurprising coming from Trump.

Remember this is a man who called for the execution of five innocent Black teenagers. He told us who he was.
Trump posts again about Democrats, saying their behavior is “punishable by DEATH!”

This is also a perfect illustration that there is a wide and deep chasm between private practice attorneys and public prosecutors when it comes to responsibility. "Attorney" doesn't mean interchangeability into any setting. That's why Trump's appointments in Justice are so corrupt/incompetent.

Oh my GOD. Holy shit. Holy shit holy shit holy shit.

To non-lawyers: this level of incompetence is BREATHTAKING. It is absolutely incomprehensible. This is a "mistake" that will be taught in criminal procedure classes for GENERATIONS.
NEWS: During a hearing in federal court in VA, prosecutors confirmed that the operative indictment in the case against James Comey was never shown to or voted on by the entire grand jury before it was presented in open court.

Yes!!!!! My thought exactly
On the eve of the vote to release the Epstein files and (hopefully) end the silence, a lot of reporters stayed silent when one of their female peers was called Piggy by the president.

We can’t end violence against women unless a whole lot more people are willing to speak up when they see it.

Remember: The concentration of wealth in the hands of a few isn't just bad for our economy. It's corrosive to our democracy.

When the wealthy and well-connected control our political system, regular people don't have a voice.

The result? The demagoguery and corruption we're seeing now.
