Watching Ken Burns' "The American Revolution" and the British just ran wild through Brooklyn.

Bunch of worthless hipsters did absolutely nothing to stop them apparently.

I've had these. "Chex-tra delicious" just means double the salt.
This is bullshit, why not just make it Chex-tra delicious from the beginning

Thanks for sharing this document, @rweingarten.bsky.social.

I read it, and I believe it's inexcusably inadequate and will not prepare teachers or schools to confront the very real dangers of the "A.i." products pushed by your partners, including OpenAI.

A few thoughts for your consideration...

I did restrain myself from correcting the gas guy's incorrect chemistry when he tried to explain why the smell gets stronger as the tank gets really low.

It was 8 pm and nobody had time for that.
So yesterday started with the smell of gas in the house (due to a low propane tank, not a leak, thankfully) and ended with our doorbell going bonkers at 10 pm.

Fun times fun times.

Maybe they said "for superior hydration" when they meant "for superior hydrOGENation".

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

4 microseconds is about 1000x bigger than their normal accuracy with respect to the BIPM.

(also, talking up NIST F-4 is a misdirection. It’s a frequency standard so it doesn’t run continuously and might have been off anyway when power went out)
Power outage in Boulder, CO briefly affected NIST atomic clock. Time drifted 4 microseconds, but redundancies are in place & NIST says "time is not broken." Power remains off. #Physics #News

Am I an A.I. model?
I don’t know how anyone can still talk about “the AI revolution” with a straight face. Reuters story about a railroad company that has sunk $300,000 into “developing AI products” and appears to have made…a chatbot that doesn’t work?

I had something that was not really a nightmare, more of an anxiety dream where I was visiting Seattle and only had a day to see stuff but my phone wouldn't connect to the network so I couldn't communicate with my friends or figure out where I needed to go.

Well, fuck them. I’m just gonna professor even HARDER.
When I'm feeling particularly hopeless about the future of professoring as a profession, I try to remind myself: That's what they want. They want us to not want to be professors anymore.
