How much control could a cat actually have over its tail. Like would you be able to Siberian Fox a breed of cat with prehensile tails?

Somewhere out there right now is a cat with the most dextrous tail of any cat.

Communicating why a 50 year mortgage costs more, overall, than a 30 year mortgage should not be a hard task.

The problem is the average American is both functionally illiterate and innumerate, as a deliberate result of decades of the policies made by the very people pushing for 50 year mortgages.

It is readily apparent that most lawmakers in the United States have never been poor; do not know any poor people; have never actually had a conversation with a poor person; and have no clear understanding of how poverty actually affects people’s health and opportunities.

The audacity. The sheer mitigated gall to say that to us, rather than walking down the hall and saying this to Tim Kaine or the Nevada contingent or that raging asshole John Fetterman. The arrogant ignorance is astounding.
The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.

Seattle's Mamdani is winning by an absurdly small margin over our incumbent mayor, who once pulled a gun on a pregnant woman in a parking lot.

Hemp is defined as <0.3% delta-9 THC in dry weight. The minibus adds a ban on “any intermediate hemp-derived cannabinoid products which are marketed or sold as a final product or directly to an end consumer for personal or household use,” and sets a limit of 0.4 mg THC per container.
The shutdown deal includes a ban on hemp products that none of its negotiators debated in public.

Disappointing that only 24 senators voted against killing an amendment to strike that ban.

These people have exactly one strong impulse and it's to immediately throw cold water on any indication that their own base is getting angry or making demands. They fundamentally see their purpose as telling anyone thinking about standing up for themselves to knock it off and be quiet.

This is my favorite part of this cycle we've been repeating for my entire adult life: when they sit backwards on the chair for some real talk and explain that you're a fucking peasant who doesn't understand how things work.

Just in case you thought this was about trans athletes. This was solely about creating a fascist and racist gender bureaucracy over what constitutes being feminine enough to be considered a woman.

They're targeting cis women who may be intersex and banning them from sport.

In the century leading up to 1975, nearly 6000 freighters went down in the Great Lakes.

The Edmund Fitzgerald was the last.

The last. In 50 years, not a single commercial freighter has been lost in the Great Lakes.

Why?

It's NOAA. Of course it's NOAA.

I've noticed the opposing team's fans only cheer when the opponents score on us. To win those fans over, I recommend we score on ourselves repeatedly; that will surely make them so happy they'll start supporting us. And I'm sure all our fans will keep cheering for us—who else is there to cheer for?

That they have to view dem leadership as much of an enemy as the republicans

A great book I loved as a kid: Paul de Kruif's The Microbe Hunters.

A history of the beginning of microbiology and absolutely fucking *wild* experiments they did.

Interns capturing rabid dogs, collecting their saliva, using mouth pipettes on the deadly saliva while testing it, etc.
