We fired the art department and replaced them with an orb. It hovers about four feet off the ground and follows us around the office. Sometimes it feels like it's waiting for something. The way conservatives talk about and understand this issue is essentially imaginary, a problem that happens on their television screens. Trying to "solve" it in a way that assuages their concerns is like passing a law to try to outlaw the fake drugs from law and order svu
There is no amount of increasing border enforcement or deporting people that will ever make the American right wing believe the border is being properly handled by a democratic president. Any compromise on this is just a signal that they can demand more & keep the issue live. Immoral, bad politics.
