As a lame milquetoast liberal, I think we can all agree that the calm moderate stance is that ICE should be abolished and all the current ICE goons should be thrown into a pit

Minneapolis should press its momentum and demand not only withdrawal but start talking about the need for immediate reparations, loudly, with the total certainty that only winners have. "You have wronged us terribly and must pay recompense" and let them argue the second part.

ICE is upset that ICE isn't welcome in restaurants after ICE ordered food at a restaurant, ate it, then arrested restaurant employees, and ICE believes this is someone else's fault, do I have that right?

It is wild to me that a military incursion to steal another country’s resources so the president can have a personal slush fund in Qatar is like the 5th most scandalous thing currently happening.
this is a straightforward impeachable offense for trump, vance, rubio and every other person down the line who enabled it and the framers would have thought impeachment for it did not go nearly far enough
Marco Rubio: "The oil proceeds are being deposited into an account that ultimately will become a US Treasury blocked account here in the US. We will say 'this is what this money can be spent on.' They will submit to us a budget request -- 'we want to use the money on these things.'"

The Republican Party is unredeemable. Whatever flaws the Democratic Party has, it’s very clear the Democrats are the good guys and Republicans are evil.
Ron Johnson on Ilhan Omar getting attacked: "Let's talk about how crazy this is. Had that been a Republican member of Congress and an illegal immigrant spraying something at them, in Minneapolis what would probably happen is they would release that illegal immigrant."

Donald Trump Is Frightened
Trump wants to appear eager to minimize out-of-control clashes between government militias and protesters. But he doesn’t want to stop the things causing those clashes in the first place.

It's finally here, this time it's definitely real: The Pivot to Being Presidential
President Trump softened his tone on immigration enforcement in the wake of another killing of an American citizen by federal officers by expressing sorrow over the bloodshed and sending a new personal envoy to take charge in Minneapolis.

The people of Minnesota have executed one of the most impressive civil resistance campaigns I can remember:

- Organized a city wide general strike
- Maintained nonviolent discipline amidst violence
- Mobilized 10,000s in subzero temps to protest and watch ICE
- Flipped public opinion against ICE

Voting NO on the DHS funding bill is the bare minimum.

Backing Kristi Noem’s impeachment is the bare minimum.

Holding law-breaking ICE agents legally accountable is the bare minimum.

ICE is beyond reform. Abolish it.

i think this attitude — that all opposition is illegitimate and nothing we do can be questioned— is probably pervasive in the white house and helps explain why they keep making terrible political choices
Putin pioneered this. No opposition is legitimate. Regular, decent, “ordinary” people cannot possibly be against us because only we represent “the real people.”

Tell-tale sign of authoritarianism.

So the “everyone should be armed” second amendment crowd is using the fact the a man was armed (maybe) as justification?

Is this right?
January 24, 2026 at 5:32 PM
That's easy, the NRA has established for a couple decades that they believe that only conservatives deserve the second amendment
This certainly puts all the fucking NRA idiots in a dilemma.
Not only was it a cold-blooded murder by a federal agent but it creates a quagmire with the precious gun lobby.
A tragedy with a quandary.
