Highguard's developer is reportedly laying off "most" of its staff -- the same week Riot Games cut staff working on its new fighting game. Seems almost impossible for new multiplayer games to break through, with a few exceptions like Arc Raiders

Riot is cutting nearly 80 jobs on working on its recently-launched free-to-play fighting game, 2XKO.

Feels like such a brutal time to launch a live service game. If something's not an instant hit, drastic changes and cuts happen almost right away

About half of the game’s development team is affected.

In 1943, musician Woody Guthrie placed a message on his guitar: "This machine kills fascists."

I am part of a group that's shipped half a million free 3D-printed whistles to defend against ICE — 200,000 of them in the first week of February alone.

This is the story of the "Whistle Crew."
This whistle fights fascists
I print whistles now. You can too.

Steam Deck wasn't booting. Read onIine that unplugging the battery from the motherboard and plugging it back in might help. Opened up the Deck, did as suggested, put it all back together. Steam Deck boots again!! I feel like a superhero

Oh hey. It's me. I'm back. I wanted to talk to all the devs who took the war chest from their popular games (and YouTube careers!) and turned it into a publishing studio to find out what they're doing differently and if its working out for them.
Turns out...yeah seems like its going good!

A phenomenon I find interesting is the yearning for corporations to launch copyright nukes on the AI companies. Which is to say there is such a feeling of hopelessness and a kind of legal void around this stuff that many people are demanding someone, anyone, do something about it in court.

I think I'm only halfway through Cairn, but it's excellent so far. Challenging, thrilling, and scaling the impossible-seeming walls is always satisfying
Cairn embargo is up and I am so pleased to say the game is a triumph. Gorgeous, nerve-wracking, and I don't think I've ever heard a vocal performance like the one given by the protagonist. Just a coiled spring of determination and anger. Remarkable.
