The silence from global democratic leaders on Trump’s invasion of Venezuela is staggering. You can’t call the U.S. a fading power while simultaneously being too afraid to condemn its illegal, reckless acts. Either it’s declining, or you’re intimidated by its power. It cannot be both.

Stop saying you’re ashamed to be American. We are more than the people in power. That language fractures solidarity & unity is survival at this point. Shame demobilizes. Nihilism hands victory away. Don’t be embarrassed. Be motivated. Don’t withdraw. Organize, focus, & fuckin fight. Snap out of it!

Reducing an entire citizenry to dehumanizing generalizations is an enemy tactic. It’s meant to alienate you from your country, neighbors, & any shared stake. Once isolated & ashamed, people are easy to radicalize, fracture, & mobilize against their own interests in favor of someone else’s. Reject it

Stop treating the absence of congressional authorization on Venezuela as the core problem. Congress’s failure to meaningfully respond demonstrates that approval would’ve been granted if sought. The emergency we continue not to address is the deeper, systemic corruption of accountability & restraint.

Trump wonders why people don’t come from Norway and Sweden.
Maybe because we already have 1 year paid parental leave, 5 weeks paid vacation, worker protections, humane conditions and don’t need 3–4 jobs to survive. 🇸🇪🇳🇴

Even if Trump never intends to invade Greenland, just suggesting it is destabilizing. Threatening a NATO ally forces alerts, fractures trust, & casts doubt on Article 5 if danger comes from within. That weakens deterrence across NATO nations. The only clear beneficiary of NATO instability is Russia.
Now Trump says "we" need Greenland.

Well done weak European leaders who tepidly criticized/welcomed Trump’s invasion of Venezuela yesterday.

You're next.

The Trump Corollary:

If an action is illegal, destabilizing, or norm-breaking, it will be reframed as strength. If it breaks the law, the law itself will be mocked or dismissed. Accountability is treated as weakness; escalation as proof of power.

Released in 1996, MD.45's single album The Craving was a side project of Dave Mustaine (guitars) & Lee Ving (vocals), with Kelly LeMieux on bass & Jimmy DeGrasso on drums. (Avoid the post-90s revised versions.)

This song "Voices" has some cool polyphonic voices starting at 2:30.

It doesn’t matter if Trump has congressional approval or not, the attack on Venezuela is an international crime. It is a Crime Against Peace (or Crime of Aggression). To deny this is to legitimize the conquest of Ukraine, Taiwan, and others kleptocrats and oligarchs hunger for.

Latin America should be demanding a defensive military alliance from their governments to protect the region from the United States; NATO is designed to deter Russia but who will deter the US? The culture of regional subservience & impotence needs to end. Sovereignty above all.

Mexico, Colombia, Cuba and Brazil need a defensive military alliance as soon as possible. Failing to mobilize means US invasion forces can target them one at a time. The road to peace shouldn’t only include dialogue but the firepower needed to ensure it stays as dialogue.

The United States has threatened Mexico, Colombia, and Cuba with the possibility of future attacks. Mexico and Colombia would likely inflict heavy casualties on US invasion forces at first contact if a similar operation were attempted against their capitals.

There is a forbidden 4th option but it would open Pandora’s box; if Venezuela wanted to meet Trump at the middle for legitimizing the targeting of heads of state & officials they would make it a priority to target Mar-A-Lago and Trump subordinates on US soil. Not recommended.

Option 3 is the most pragmatic, and the most costly for everyone involved as it will deprive the US invaders from their goal to steal resources and allows Venezuelan forces to continue their fight by retreating into the jungle and launching a guerrilla campaign. #VenezuelaInvasion

The next steps belong to Venezuela; 1) they can negotiate with Trump and his oligarchs to peacefully surrender their resources & become subservient to the US. 2) declare a fight to the death and be killed by US invaders. 3) they can destroy their own oil resources and fight. #VenezuelaInvasion

This gallows humor graphic also represents the mental mazes of rumination+hypervigilance a mind is thrown into when rules & norms are ripped away like a rug no longer beneath your feet. To terrorize populations is the Trumpers' goal: it weakens their prey across time & makes Trumpers feel important.
