I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

Google at its peak was basically the best information retrieval system in human history and they and every competitor decided going from there to “you didn’t want answers you wanted half-assed auto-complete 80%-wrong hallucinations” in a few years was the right idea

The plan was leaked by the Russians and no one in America’s historically inept administration knew what anyone else was doing so people started getting behind it because they thought it was official policy.

Putin totally played the US, knowing full well he was up against incompetents and idiots.

“Did Nathan Gill ever say anything you disagree with in return for his bribes from a Kremlin stooge?”

“Did you, in your roles as his boss, friend, mentor & party leader, ever question his full-throated support for an enemy of the UK and if not, why not?”

You can have those for nothing, lads.

Lviv: @realDonaldTrump’s peace plan is a Kremlin trap.

Like Nathan Gill, Trump is under the sway of Russian spies.

Ukraine fights on.

Yeah, yeah, wolves using tools, it's all very interesting and opens up entirely new vistas of understanding canine intelligence.

But more importantly, this is poaching, and those wolves belong in jail.

The Tribune is well worth a subscription if you are in Sheffield and value quality journalism
Excellent and courageous investigative journalism.
The fact that it is (apparently) legal to do this to people is utterly disgusting.
“It broke my heart, that was my savings towards a new car,” one woman who paid Milne tens of thousands of pounds told us. “He has just wiped me out.”

Who is Andrew Milne - the solicitor sending "very aggressive" letters to Sheffield homeowners?

Ensuring the answer to this ridiculously important question stays permanently secret is the single most important priority of the tech industry right now, in terms of data / climate disclosures
...Also, what percentage of the AI and data center demand is being used for genuinely important functions (life-saving medical, scientific, or efficiency practices) and what percentage of the energy use is powering slop videos and bad Google search responses? I worry it is 10% valuable 90% junk,

I will trade one SCSI cable and one parallel cable for a ton of your fava beans
I did give subsistence farming a hard think after the kids and I went to see Grave of the Fireflies last month. If I had to, I think what I'd do is rip everything out and sow fava beans. Complete protein, multiple harvests per year + you can till the greens back in to keep the nitrogen cycle going.

A lot of people have asked so just to clarify I turned down the Riyadh comedy festival on principle. I regard my comedy as art and I would never compromise my integrity for a pay check. (Couldn’t do it anyway as it clashed with a voiceover I was doing for Morrisons).

Damn. Just … damn.
Retired Army Sgt. Brian Wofford spoke to me this morning at the Oklahoma City #NoKings protest. Didn’t expect him to be carrying his DD214 so I asked some warmup questions like when he got out and whether his injury was service-related.

He paused while describing the car bomb in Iraq to say this:
