Rewatched Ghost Ship and yes, it has an INCREDIBLE opening, and it does help to carry much of the tension for much of the movie but it can't salvage the final third which is an absolute shambles.

Again, this place is run by horrible folk. There's plenty of evidence of that. It might be better, but is it fuck good.

I'm not sure it was all stupidity. I'm pretty sure a significant amount of it was from folk who knew exactly what was coming.
I warned - over and over again - that Keir Starmer would be a disastrous prime minister.

That most political journalists did not understand the obvious tells its own story.

They should study journalists’ brains like they do with football players after they die.
The emails that you’re seeing now are news in themselves, but that’s because of how they’re coming out—a congressional committee released them—& the context in which they’re being viewed. A guy emailing a reporter talking about old girlfriends or saying someone is “dirty” is not a whole news story.

And then vilified in death.
The despicable ways in which conservatives have gone all in to defend that bloated carcass of a man are unforgivable. They should never be forgiven, there is no "reaching across the aisle," there is no redemption. They should be chastised and shunned until they are gone from the earth.

The first "sports event" we had at our first college apartment was Summerslam 2005. Because we were all underage, our friends came over even if they weren't wrestling fans to drink.

The look of shock and awe when they found out custody of a child was being contested in a ladder match.
20 years since Eddie Guerrero passed feels like one of those things that feels impossible to believe. I remember that day and ensuing week so vividly.

He had so much left to do. So much left to offer.

Swimfan creates a REALLY good villain but doesn't really know how to make anybody else even partially interesting. Still, Christensen's antics are enough to carry this to being at least decent.

So, I was aware of the "police have no duty to protect you" legal precedent but I genuinely didn't know that the case in question was so horrifying.

I don't know how anyone tells themselves that an institution like this can be reformed in any meaningful way.
In 1999, a woman named Jessica Gonzales sought and obtained an order of protection against her physically abusive husband ("AH"), who had repeatedly threatened to kill her and their three children. The order included language specifically limiting when and where AH was allowed to see the children.

Starmer being replaced by Streeting will be quite a "be careful what you wish for" thing.

Not that Starmer shouldn't be gone of course. I just don't give a shit because it doesn't really matter. Whoever gets that job will be, by design, horrible.

I'd say this episode if Welcome to Derry was consistently stronger but the scares didnt land as well for me.

Still feels a bit stretched but if it can keep the standard where the last two episodes have been, I'm not complaining.

This is it. And it's what makes the BBC incompetence in this so stupid. There was no need to give this ammo.

Problem is, they make these choices constantly over here and never get called on it. So maybe it's no wonder they thought they could always get away with it.
