Be careful what you build your politics around.

If you organize your life around cruelty, fear, and domination, that’s the world you help create.

If you help to build hell, don't complain about the heat. 🔥

No one says to legit business owners, "hey I see there's an underground market selling toxic knock-offs of your product: how will you incorporate the toxic product AND protect your customers against its harms?" But apparently it's fine to make this suggestion to educators with respect to AI.

Every Democrat running for office needs to promise investigations and full prosecutions from top to bottom, remove its funding bloat then break up the agency and distribute its core remaining useful functions across other agencies.
ICE detain father shopping on Christmas Eve—then steal his family's groceries.

Then 3 agents divvy up his paid for food—taking what they want for themselves.

"Can I just get the wife's number to call and let her know?" woman asks.

"No, guess he should've complied," agent says.

Yes, there's so much reckless optimism about reliability of human verification for synthetic text. In any serious system, you'd have 1 in 5 randomized controls, with known subtle errors or plagiarism, to check whether the human reviewer catches them. Due diligence is expensive.
Having four lawyers review LLM-generated content is not enough to ensure it isn't fraudulent. People are sure they won't miss something, until they do, publicly, in high-stakes situations. This can and should cause serious harm to careers built on integrity.

I don't know how many times this needs to be said, but apparently a lot: If you are not in a position to verify the accuracy of some synthetic text, the synthetic text is not useful/has a high potential to be misleading.

This is one of those cases.

The hack of the AI influencers puts me in mind of how genuinely optimistic cyberpunk was. Even when it posited a tremendously dark world, it presumed people WANTED something better, and would not tolerate the worst, most inhumane activities.

If only we knew.

It's really important to talk to real human beings in real life, and NOT ONLINE, and to always reflect, question, and learn. If you are never challenged on anything, you will just end up thinking something as obviously ridiculous as this, is okay and normal rather than fuel for a horror novel.

Just a reminder: you are NOT unusual, weird, or unlovable if you have:

- no one to see on Christmas Day,
- no presents, or
- no contactable relatives.

Very few people live the idealised version on TV. Those of us who live differently—whether by choice or trauma—matter as much.
