Watching the national cenotaph service on TV. First service I've even watched in a decade. It brings up a lot of hard memories, but it also brings up some positive memories from the days when I actually had the honour of being a part of the parade as an RMC cadet some 20-odd years ago.

Here's a presentation I put together a few years ago. Seems particularly poignant today, given the state of the world. Lest we forget.

On this day, I especially remember the memory of Private Ryan J. Larson, killed in by a roadside bomb on 15 June 2011 in southern Dand district, Kandahar. That day will forever live in my memory.

The early Calgary football community contributed greatly to the Canadian war effort for the Great War. Of 198 identified players known to have played at least 1 game between 1908-14, 90 were known to have enlisted. Of those, 17 are known to have lost their lives in service of Canada. Lest we forget.

11 November 2011 changed my outlook of Remembrance Day forever. The last Remembrance Day parade in Kandahar after the end of the Canadian combat mission. I can hardly imagine a more poignant and visceral reminder of why we continue to mark the day. Lest we forget. Honour the fallen, help the living.

Finally finished sewing my mini moccasins that I started working on this summer. My fingers are stiff and a bit raw, but I'm so happy to have these done. They're a meaningful reminder of my healing journey. And they fit a bear perfectly. 🧡

In the last month, the FBI has charged players from two different leagues for roles in sports-betting scandals.

Either legalized gambling is exposing corruption that’s always been there.

Or it’s creating it.

Either answer is terrible for sports.

Any of my mutuals going to the Vanier Cup? I'm giving serious thought to getting myself a ticket.

Thoughts are with Alex Singleton and his family following his cancer diagnosis. Hopefully his prognosis is good, and that he gets back on the field soon!

Sports ball is just a fucking game. Doesn't matter which sport it is, it is just a fucking game. If you can't recognise that, and cannot act like a sane, rational human being, it's time to go have a good long look in the mirror, and give your head a good hard fucking shake. Grow the fuck up. 🤬

Andrew Scheer is an awful person and an awful representative. He needs to resign.

.... Andrew Scheer and party whip Chris Warkentin "barged" into [d'Entremont's] office, pushed open the door ... and yelled at him about "how much of a snake" he was.

Jesus fucking Christ people it's a game. If you're that unstable following a win or loss that you have to put death threats out to a player's spouse you are way too invested in a game and need serious help.

Missed call or not, the Lions blew it. Riders never should have been in a position to win it if the Lions had done their jobs.
Amar Doman shared to his Instagram story what he believed to be a missed call at the end of the BC Lions vs Saskatchewan Roughriders game.

I'll ask the same thing I asked last week. Which of the incoming rule changes would've improved either of today's games?

Feels like the CFL is about to make a huge mistake for no real reason.
