Okay, so I might have over reacted regarding VAC budget issues yesterday. The truth is a little more complex. Yes, medical cannabis reimbursement is being reduced, but overall funding is increasing. Lack of clear communication on these matters is the most frustrating part, since it can cause panic.

It's terrifying that the federal budget is calling for $4.2 billion in cuts from Veterans Affairs Canada over the course of the next 4 fiscal years, with no details given other than reducing cannabis reimbursement from $8.25/g to $6/g. I'm genuinely scared of what this will bring for me and others.

That battle alone was devastating for Canada, and Canadian football. Jerry Fitzgibbons was a star for the Calgary Tigers, and was the heart and soul of the team from its earliest days. His loss must have been crushing for the future of the team, and hard for the development of the sport in Calgary.

A career well spent.

On this day, I especially remember the memory of Private Ryan J. Larson, killed in by a roadside bomb on 15 June 2011 in southern Dand district, Kandahar. That day will forever live in my memory.

The early Calgary football community contributed greatly to the Canadian war effort for the Great War. Of 198 identified players known to have played at least 1 game between 1908-14, 90 were known to have enlisted. Of those, 17 are known to have lost their lives in service of Canada. Lest we forget.

11 November 2011 changed my outlook of Remembrance Day forever. The last Remembrance Day parade in Kandahar after the end of the Canadian combat mission. I can hardly imagine a more poignant and visceral reminder of why we continue to mark the day. Lest we forget. Honour the fallen, help the living.

Finally finished sewing my mini moccasins that I started working on this summer. My fingers are stiff and a bit raw, but I'm so happy to have these done. They're a meaningful reminder of my healing journey. And they fit a bear perfectly. 🧡

After a disheartening day, I just wanted to post a few photos of my cat before going to bed.

Got my nails done today, love the new colour! The powder on black base just makes for the best purple polish I've found so far. 🧡

I don't usually post photos of me pre-transition, but when it's Liev's 8th gotcha day... 🐱 Hard to believe it's been 8 years since he moved his little kitty bags in, and made me his person forever. Love you, little guy! 🧡

There's really so much to be said for old school trophies like the one you just posted. It would be great to see the Hugo Ross Trophy see the light of day again as well (It was awarded from 1911-1947 to the champions of the WCRFU/WIFU)

All ready for the Remembrance Day service on Friday, first one I'll have attended in a decade. Feels strange to wear my medals again after so long, and for the first time since transitioning, but my military service is still a part of who I am. I'm proud to have served, and am proud to remember. 🍁

According to a tshirt in my collection, the Stamps won... 😂

I just realised that I haven't posted any cat pictures in MONTHS... To atone for this grave disrespect, here's a photo of Liev. 🐱

The pretender and the real thing. Got some painting and decorating to do! 3D printing is quite an amazing thing.

Been quite some time since I posted a selfie on here, so here we go! Got my hair cut this morning, and thought I looked cute 🧡

This is still one of my favourite Stampeders helmet designs of all time. It wasn't the most durable (the coating was prone to chipping and falling off), and it apparently cost a fortune to make each helmet, but damn did it ever look good on the field. #cfl #stampeders

Karl Douglas was not a good QB for the Stampeders... 😂 And yet they somehow got significantly worse in 1976 after getting rid of him! Researching my collection certainly gets my into the details of eras long past.

100 years of helmet development in two photos. Thinking of the tragic injury that Tom Pate suffered while playing against Calgary 50 years ago tomorrow, I couldn't help but think of how far helmet technology has come. 1st photo shows a 1920s helmet, 2nd photo shows a 1960s helmet compared to modern.

I'm going through and photographing all of my helmets again, and I think I'm getting better every time I do it. This is just a small example of my collection, between the jerseys and the helmet. I *think* I might be a bit of a Stampeders enthusiast 😂 #cfl #stampeders

Anyone wanna buy a helmet? 😂 #cfl #stampeders
