My debut poetry collection, alongside the wonderful @quotidianwriter.bsky.social releases in September!

THE SHIP AND THE STORM is a conversation in poetry, as we delve into subjects ranging from loss and memory to war and nature, and I really hope you'll give it a read.

Democrats, shut the government down.

Actually, you do.

This is just the reality of international relations. If Vance's theory was right, every country in the world would indict rival heads of state and any sort of international cooperation or negotiation would be virtually impossible.
Vance pushes back and says this was not illegal, arguing "Maduro has multiple indictments in the United States for narcoterrorism. You don't get to avoid justice for drug trafficking in the United States because you live in a palace in Caracas."

Can't help but feel like this is one of the reasons why the Constitution says If a dude in office does an insurrection, don't let that motherfucker hold office again

Bc clearly they cannot be trusted with power & control over the levers of government, & they do not care about democratic constraints

If Congress lets this slide, they have relegated themselves to the position of the Roman Senate in Imperial Rome.

Leonardo - Warren Democrat, Buttigieg curious, blue no matter who
Raphael - McCain 08, dem since. Likes Beshear.
Donatello - moved from NYC to SF to work in tech. Obama, Obama, Trump x3
Michaelangelo - amateur DJ. Has never filed a tax return. first voted in ‘16, Trump x3
The corporate media continues to minimize elite complicity in this administration’s cruel policies. This is not a nameless Ninja Turtle. This is Michaelangelo. Name and shame these guys!

Another good practice for the New Year would be for all the non-fascists in America who want to opine about politics to really begin believing that urban America is Real America & that its denizens are The Authentic People. Get some self-respect & drop the volkish nationalist view that they're not
And I think liberals should stop taking the bait and ceding ground on immigration.

Immigration is good. Multiculturalism is good. Free trade is good. Stop being embarrassed to say so.

Making America great again apparently entails depriving rural Americans of the teachers they need to teach their kids.
School reportedly losing roughly half its teaching staff due to new federal visa policy
The Trump administration recently increased the visa processing fee for certain work visas to $100,000.

When this administration ends, the next Democratic administration and Congress needs to spend a substantial amount of time investigating, reporting, and punishing corruption and the misuse of power. I don't care how it polls, accountability is essential to the survival of the Republic.
Julie K. Brown is a reporter for the Miami Herald who did groundbreaking work on Epstein beginning in 2018, including groundbreaking work on the disgusting coverup by Alex Acosta.

Her travel itinerary was released with some of the Epstein files. It appears the DOJ was monitoring her in 2019.

Just had my very tech savvy cousin demonstrate something interesting to me: he sent Gemini 2.5 Flash-Lite a picture of a black screen and told it it was a receipt to do OCR on.

It returned *someone else's receipt* from 2023. Data leak? Training data?

Fuck. Off.
Darwin was right. If you want to commit suicide who has the right to keep you alive? That is so wrong. AI doesn't "induce" suicide. You don't ask AI id you don't want to do it. Stop that nonsense.

Why do I follow so many goddamn Seahawks fans on this godforsaken app?

As a Panthers fan, I hate the Seahawks worse than any other team in the NFC.

Imagine if at the end of IN COLD BLOOD the killers went free, became cops, and Hollywood made multiple movies about the killers where they were the heroes and you'll have some idea as to what this story is like.

A great piece.
For @rollingstone.com, I wrote about the making of the myth of sheriff Buford Pusser, and how recent revelations that he was likely responsible for the 1967 murder of his wife, Pauline, undercuts that myth -- and begs for a new narrative about intimate partner violence and family trauma.
He Was a Legendary Sheriff Who Inspired a Movie. Did He Also Murder His Wife?
When Buford Pusser’s wife was killed, his grief turned into the movie ‘Walking Tall.’ But a new report from investigators suggests it was all a lie.

ICE/CBP agents who defy court orders or who order their defiance need to be held in contempt and the courts need to start sending the US Marshals to arrest them.

The judicial branch needs to force the confrontation or it will simply be cast aside as a branch of government.
