On LinkedIn…Someone posted about their latest “diverse” edu book. Took me back to my convo with their White edu celeb co-author years ago. They were offended as I asked questions about their choices in their work “centered on equity”. How the books I used with kids they’d never even heard of. Hmph.

In 2026 we gotta let go of traditional award shows. I’m an old who no longer needs that validation for art that feeds my soul. I really don’t care what they think. 🤷🏽‍♀️

At some point (*soon*), we have to release ourselves of our need to refer to these actions as illegal. Legality has never curtailed authoritarianism.

Unethical. Inhumane. Death dealing. We have so many more words to help with this.

Helpful. Thank you.
Screaming "wtf" and waiting for a spontaneous uprising is going to discourage you. There won't be a spontaneous uprising. That's just not where the people are at.

Organize for the long term. Build community. Build resilience. Have a strategy for whatever corner of this thing you're working on.

The world must boycott the World Cup and the Olympics.

It is both the only moral choice and will actually get the attention of these dead-eyed clout demons.

Information gathering is good.

Doom scrolling and panic spreading is not.

Get the info you need, make a plan of action for yourself, and then go enact it. Try to not get sucked into doomerism and fear mongering. Even now, even today, even this morning there are good things you can and should do.
