The GOP just passed a bill most of them vehemently disagree with — and that they know is going to harm their constituents — because they’re afraid of Trump.

Pretty pathetic stuff.

I surround myself with other progressive Christians. I read their articles, I talk to them, and I go to church — huge to me. I boldly declare allegiances and actively get involved against hateful causes. I’m also not scared of calling myself a Christian. They don’t own or define the label.
As an anti-Zionist Jew, I’d love advice from progressive, anti-nationalist Christians on how you navigate connection to your religious identity while its most visible & influential face is a faction of racist, empire-seeking supremacists

This “big, ugly bill” is dangerous and will destroy rural health care. In Kentucky alone, 35 hospitals are under the threat of closing, stripping care from families, cutting jobs and crippling local economies. 1/2

it’s not that they didn’t learn anything from iraq. it’s that they did, and what they learned was that you can get thousands killed, destabilize a region for a generation, and still get invited back to do it again—no apology, no reflection, just the chance to keep failing up a hill of dead bodies.

“This is what war is like. This is what war does. It kills dads and rapes moms and maims kids and is much, much more effective at making widows and orphans than it is at making peace.“

Three Yale professors who have written extensively on authoritarianism are leaving the U.S. “We’re like people on the Titanic saying our ship can’t sink,” Marci Shore said. “And what you know as a historian is that there is no such thing as a ship that can’t sink.”

The decision by these three Yale professors to move to Canada is both a warning and a call to action.
