1/ Get really annoyed by this. There’s being critical of AIPAC and there’s “surely the US had nothing wrong with it before Israel and if we could just get rid of that one small group that controls everything then…” see where it goes?
Positioning Zionism as a Special Corrupting Outside Force on the American body politic — rather than a bog-standard (if unusually successful!) ethnonationalist lobby — is an antisemitic argument. And as a non-zionist Jew I am not going to run cover for it

you piss off the activist crowd - lib & left want you to fight
for less engaged voters, it's not a coherent story to constantly ping-pong between "trump is a threat to democracy" & "we need to come together & compromise with republicans"

even if there's maybe some tactical thing, or even if uniform opposition doesn't change the end result, it's still much better from a communication standpoint
at very best, it's unclear what message we're supposed to take from this selective cave

the idea that they'd cave for the "promise" of a future vote that will never happen, *right* after sweeping election wins that demonstrated clearly that people are (correctly) blaming Rs for this shutdown.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

Senate update: Republicans are now trying to sneak a backdoor national abortion ban into their government funding bill. Republicans will stop at nothing to control women's health care decisions.

incredible that these guys have a massive hard on for a country that, if it were a state, would rank behind kansas in terms of wealth and which would be a total backwater if it weren’t economically integrated with more functional countries

how is anyone buying this hurricane of bullshit from MTG about moderating? Conveniently timed right after T shot down her Senate ambitions and a blue wave election.

I would imagine many major Tesla investors are quietly selling off as much as they can. They’re in a bind where the cult around Elnorn is the only thing keeping the share price way higher than it should be, while he’s also become their biggest liability.
Don’t get me wrong - they deserve to fail.

People are using buy now, pay later apps to go into debt to buy groceries.
GoFundMe has 250k pages for medical bills and 40k for tuition.
… and Elon Musk gets a $1 trillion pay out.
And people think moms getting SNAP are the problem.

Don’t let anyone change the reality of who Fuentes is. Now that he is more mainstream, there will be an almost involuntary reaction on the part of many to see him as legitimate.
He’ll use that to great effect, as he already did with Carlson.
But never forget: this is who Fuentes actually is.

You are putting more intelligent language to something I’ve been grappling with at a gut level for a long time: that we lost something culturally when journalism started covering the STORY of politics rather than reporting on the actual politics.
