If your army relies on donkeys and horses to shift men and supplies, take it as a hint that you’re not a great power.
Thanks to the monumentally stupid decision to invade Ukraine, Russia is even less of a great power than it was 4 years ago. If your military capacity relies on DPRK and Iran, and you've turned yourself into a dependent of China, you’re not a great power. carnegieendowment.org/russia-euras...
With Putin in Charge, Russia’s Vassalage to China Will Only Deepen

Trump has always worked for Russia and led an insurrection against the U.S. government.

No one can honestly say they're surprised Trump betrays his country in every sphere of life. The only thing that's surprising is how many Americans go along with it.

Russian central bank greatly increases short-term loans to banks, indicating a liquidity shortage.

Usual caveats that Russia's economy isn't going to collapse tomorrow. But this highlights how they're operating beyond capacity and their aggression against Ukraine is unsustainable. The costs add up.

Trump called Kellogg an “idiot”, replacing him with Witkoff.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 20, 2014. Russia's current war has lasted 11 years, 10 months, 8 days but armed aggression by the Moscow Empire has gone on for centuries.

Because of Western appeasement, what was a regional war has become an existential threat to civilization.

This is true. Some narco subs have mechanisms to scuttle the vessel before they are boarded to destroy evidence linked to larger cartel operations. In this case, the US did it themselves, and even the lowest level drug runners eluded charges
The only outcome more preferable to drug cartels would be flawless delivery. The evidence is destroyed, no one talked and they even got some of the expendable crew back free of charge.

Coast Guard interdiction would have seen them all in federal lockup right now looking to cut deals.
OF ALL THE VESSELS SUNK BY THE U.S. it was the likeliest to have been carrying drugs: a semisubmersible with at least one convicted trafficker on board. The U.S. blew it up, destroyed the evidence and let the survivors go GIFT LINK @schmidtsam.bsky.social @alexhorton.bsky.social

#Ukrainians do not need to be persuaded that peace is needed. Ukrainians want peace more than anyone else, because war is our daily reality.

A lasting peace and a ceasefire depend on Russia, which started this war and continues to wage it.

There is no peace because Russia wants war⤵️

I’ve been saying this for years. A successful multicultural multiethnic London is an offensive idea to some right wing world views so they make up bollocks to try to knock London down
Good interview in the paper, this. I think Sadiq is right: London 'needs' to be less successful than it is for a bunch of political arguments here in the UK to work, hence the fictions being invented about it:
Populists attack London because it is ‘progressive and successful’, says Sadiq Khan
