Cook here, I'm about to weigh in on a food service industry issue and speak for my fellow cooks! There's no proof I'm actually a cook, and I might just be cooking my own lunch a few times a week but who cares. Anyways, there's nothing wrong with using crushed concrete instead of salt, cooks LOVE it!

the goal for CEOs who want this genAI stuff is purely making artists a means to an end. and that end IS the profits they gain off our backs. they don't want *artists*, they want smooth picture rendering machines to make them money.
"look we're not using AI in the final product we're just using it to speed up the conceptual stage" is what a lot of dopes affecting an enlightened middle position keep saying. I truly do not get that one. You hate imagining stuff? You don't like thinking and conceptualizing? Get a grip

Go outside!!! I heard great advice at a Pixar talk once where the presenter said "any chance you can get away from your desk, take it. Go outside, hang out with friends, play a sport, pick up a hobby, do ANYTHING but draw. We draw to evoke life, and you can't do that if you don't know what life is!"

People who argue "who cares it's just for kids" all I can say is fuck right off. Kids deserve thoughtful, well-made movies that challenge them just as much as adults do. Kids aren't stupid, and they remember how movies affect them basically forever.
