🚨The first installment of "DEPORTATION, INC.: The Rise of the Immigration Enforcement Economy"—a series of short videos examining the multi-billion-$ industry in which profit increasingly dictates policy and enforcement priorities—is out today from @lawfaremedia.org and @situ-research.bsky.social.
As @benjaminwittes.lawfaremedia.org points out, @lawfaremedia.org now employs more journalists in Kyiv than the Washington Post.

It's a remarkable observation, and a sad one for the Post and its readers.

But with your support, Lawfare will continue to cover Ukraine, from Ukraine... (1/4)

The Washington Post—for which I wrote editorials for nearly a decade—has closed its Kyiv bureau.

@lawfaremedia.org has not—and we will not.

We now employ more people in Kyiv than the Washington Post.

Let me tell you about what we have done in Ukraine over the past year and why we are not leaving

Any Chicago housing law experts out there know whether tenants could sue the landlord here? Something about knowingly endangering tenants, or prohibitions against "self-help" evictions?
BREAKING: The Trump administration repeatedly said the aggressive apartment raid in Chicago last fall was prompted by intel on a gang takeover.

New docs show the real motivation was to get alleged squatters. And the landlord and manager helped them.

It is clear that abuses committed by ICE and other federal agents—including today’s apparent execution of an unarmed man in the street—are so widespread that the country will need to undergo a major truth and reconciliation process, in addition to pursuing justice through prosecutions.
Abolish ICE is now the moderate minimum position,

Prosecute ICE is where Dems should be at next.
