"I've been to a protest." For what, bro? When they cancelled "Home Improvement"?
KARL: He was an ICU use who worked for the VA and there's no evidence he brandished the gun whatsoever

BESSENT: But he brought a gun

KARL: I mean, we do have a Second Amendment

BESSENT: I've been to a protest -- guess what? I didn't bring a gun. I brought a billboard

Perfect distillation: white supremacy and greed.
This moment in history provides us with incontrovertible evidence that all the conservatives who claim to be extremely devoted to freedom of speech and the right to bear arms, and opposed to the encroachment of tyranny, are completely and totally full of shit.

It's all white supremacy and greed.

And a special shout out to every "cancel culture" grifter who helped make white supremacy mainstream again. Dude was fired because he's an unethical hack. But "cancel culture" fools gave him a ready-made excuse for his persecution complex.

All those years of media panics about teaching critical race theory and it turns out people had a decent grasp of it all along.
The other thing that happens tho is that a large number of white people from the neighborhood show up to observe. Literally the only thing that gives ICE goons pause is white people from the community watching them. That’s why every school has parent patrols and vulnerable places ask for observers.
It's fascinating that after breaking the legal observers' car window, reaching in the car to unlock and open the door and unbuckle the driver's seat belt, they just gave up when they couldn't get them out of the car. Just walked away. Evil, lawless, and also lazy

It's hard to even put into words what these animals are doing.
In October, ICE grabbed Maher Tarabishi.

He was a 24/7 caregiver for his disabled son Wael.

At the time of Maher’s detention, disability advocates warned that taking away Wael’s caregiver put his life at risk.

Wael died on Friday at age 30.

ICE caused his death.

They didn’t get to say goodbye.
Disabled son of ICE detainee dies after 30 days of hospitalization
It had been months since Wael Tarabishi seen his father. The family is calling on ICE to release Maher Tarabishi so he may attend his son's funeral.

This must be weird news to see if you’re one of the literally hundreds or even thousands of university administrators who preemptively censored faculty, scrubbed websites, changed the names of centers, etc.

Minneapolis is bringing it on. Speechless at what's being done by regular people: THANK YOU!
You don’t know your role yet maybe, but we are all finding out just what we have to offer.

In Minneapolis, one man knew immediately what he could offer and said “Bring me your clothing”.

What an absolute piece of shit this guy turned into. Or rather, was all along.
Matt Taibbi criticizes the ICE protests in Minneapolis, and says Martin Luther King Jr. would not have approved of them.

Taibbi claims MLK would not support "guilt because of racial identity" or "bringing religion into it".

A lot of prominent pundits and public intellectuals claimed—frequently and spuriously—that DEI measures in higher ed are anti-free speech. The standing federal ruling on this question, though says the opposite—only after their polemics helped fuel worse censorship than the McCarthy Era.

On a day when ICE occupies Minneapolis and we're about to go to war with Europe . . . . I know I'm not saying anything original: but there is something deeply, deeply broken in the Democratic party at this point. (and I say this as a someone who was registered "Democrat" for 40 years)
Yes it’s cold in Minnesota—but we embrace it. John and I were in Hastings with Mayor Fasbender for Hockey Day Minnesota to watch my alma mater, Wayzata High School, take on Rogers. Photo taken with parents right after their son scored a goal!
