Well! This was a pleasant surprise: @hyperallergic.com featured my piece "Shwag [sic] Armor, N.Y." in their write-up of the Employee Art Show, which closes after this weekend, if you care to see it in person. hyperallergic.com/969864/over-...
We mark [hurr hurr] the anniversary of Our Dark Lord @schafferthedark.bsky.social tearing the veil between worlds on November 14, #schafferday (just like every other day), by wearing purple, as befits royalty. The tee is making a repeat performance, but the hat is fresh for 2025 you SUCKAAAAZZZ

I was pushing a n00b who made a production of learning my entire name but was confidently wrong re: which galleries were our posts. When I tried to correct him he said he "respects my perspective." Bitch, you've been here a week; I've been here >17 years. That's not a perspective: you're just wrong.

I'm very glad to see Eric Adams recede into the distance, hopefully to never return, but this interview with him is so satisfying, b/c she exposes just how stupid & unworthy of office he always was. youtu.be/-9CmFvGEXXk

You cannot vote your way out of a system where you cannot stop a live streamed genocide. You cannot. This is not pessimism. We need to rediscover our collective power if we are going to survive on this planet with all our relations.

I've been experiencing something of The Moops lately, which is, of course, an entirely valid & healthy response to a vast array of issues in my life and the world. But it does lead to depressive jags that surely don't help me change what I can or even strive on goals for distraction and dopamine.

As I disembarked at my home stop, a large man stood with his back to the train, looking at his phone.

-Excuse me, I said as I maneuvered to his side, just as another guy, previously unnoticed, leapt out of the stairwell, SCREAMING in my ear, who I only then saw wore a Spider-Man costume, but [1/2]

As I ascended from the subway to the street amidst a throng of commuters, ~6 steps from the top a woman immediately ahead of me fully STOPPED.
-...hello?
"Hello? Jes? Vhat do you vant?"
I put a drop of my guard voice into saying: I WANT YOU TO GO UP THE STEPS.
She did, if squawking the whole way.

Senate update: Republicans are now trying to sneak a backdoor national abortion ban into their government funding bill. Republicans will stop at nothing to control women's health care decisions.

On my last break I reused an OJ bottle by filling it up with water & sticking it in the locker room freezer, then retrieved it on my way out. When I finally reached for it while waiting for my xfer, it was not frozen solid, just an ice shell filled with cold water, and a tiny hole up top.

Alchemy.

There’s a young southern woman on tt doing an experiment: calling churches & asking if they can help her get baby formula, saying she can’t afford it. Of the 30+ she’s called, nearly every church has said no. The ones who said yes were:

Black Baptist Churches
A Mosque
A small Appalachian church

Put him, Dean Cain & Kevin Sorbo in a superhero movie together where you bury them up to their necks on a beach at high tide like Leslie Nielsen in CREEPSHOW and let us, y'know, just watch them get out of it.

Any second now.

Hey, these effects are really convincing. Is Aquaman in this one?

I seem to remember whole congressional hearings about the terrible destructive force that is violence in video games and yet, there is a very strange quiet about an unregulated technology that coaches people to suicide.

One way to think about the Mamdani campaign is that 14 years ago Mayor Bloomberg and Gov Cuomo worked to crush Occupy Wall Street - a social movement gesturing at what working class politics might look like in a country with a marginalized & disorganized left.

Today, Cuomo and Bloomberg will lose.
