Today marks 5 years since Trump incited the deadly attack on our Capitol.

Ever since, Trump has tried to downplay January 6, pardoning the rioters who assaulted brave law enforcement officers.

We must continue to defend our democracy and never let this history be erased.

Noticing that CNN is calling Jan. 6 a “riot,” not an “insurrection.”

PSA: It was an insurrection.

Don't let this Jan 6th point get lost:

Jack Smith testified to Congress he had "proof beyond a reasonable doubt that President Trump engaged in a criminal scheme to overturn the results of the 2020 election."

In other words, he could prove in court that Trump attempted a coup.

No, it was a successful coup. None of the people who led it were punished, and are in fact back in power, rewarded for their efforts to break the system by running it. Donald Trump is currently the dictator he attempted to become 5 years ago, and it’s because nobody treated trying as a crime.
We must speak plainly: January 6th was an attempted coup. It was an effort to nullify millions of lawful votes and subvert the will of the American people.

There are only 218 Republicans left in the House.

Make them produce a majority every day, every hour, for every thing.
Rep. Doug LaMalfa, who died this morning, was one of 147 Republicans who voted to overturn the 2020 election.

It was defining moment of his political career—one that must not be forgotten on the anniversary of January 6.

The American people electing Trump after he staged a coup attempt 5 years ago was a nail in the coffin of our democracy. You can rationalize it all you want - But inflation! But wokeness! - but ultimately it was a societal suicide attempt and probably the dumbest collective voting decision ever made

Babies whose mothers contracted SARS-CoV-2 during pregnancy were significantly more likely to have a neurodevelopmental disorder (16.3%) by age 3 than those who were not exposed (9.7%).

This finding is similar to results of several different types of maternal infections during pregnancy.

What a brilliant idea!! @gavinnewsom.bsky.social have you considered this?
This is why I’m pushing for a state escrow account that holds federal funds before sending them on to Washington. If Trump wants to steal our tax dollars that were legally appropriated by Congress, then we should just be paying ourselves.
“Minnesota, New York, California, Illinois and Colorado will be cut off from around $7 billion in funding for the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program, which provides cash assistance to households with children, according to two people familiar with the matter.”

Monstrously cruel.

Reposting for more visibility b/c Richard is oh so right!! The #medicalcommunity needs to catch up with the latest studies! Read a damn journal once in awhile! smh
This was already widely known by the end of 2020, mostly by complete amateurs. The medical profession has been in complete denial over this and bumbling around haplessly.

6 years and exactly zero progress has been made because the medical profession continues to pretend it's not happening.
Long COVID is best described as a cluster of overlapping symptoms rather than one single condition, according to a review of 64 studies from 20 countries covering 2.4 million people.

Fatigue was most common, often alongside muscle and joint pain, cognitive symptoms, or shortness of breath.

People with psychopathic traits and low cognitive ability are over-represented in online political activity.
If someone is being cruel, obnoxious and ridiculous, don't try to reason with them. Chances are you won't get anywhere. Just block.

Five years ago today, Donald Trump urged his supporters to attack Congress and the Capitol over a proven lie. More than 140 police officers were injured.

Trump then pardoned the attackers.

He betrayed his oath and his country, and we won't ever forget it.
