Sometimes friendly neighborhood harpy. I swear a lot. Animals, books, and plants are all better than people. Bats are the best. Had an AVM and brain surgery, still here, the universe is a funny thing. Pittsburgh native in Utah soil.

i think douglas adams’ maxim about technology - everything invented before you were born is The Way Of Things, everything invented before you’re 30 is exciting, everything invented after you’re 30 is a terrifying affront - also holds true for culture (and also politics) for a lot of people

And I shouldn't need to specify this but of course I'm not counting fantasy dwarfs as people with dwarfism. The Brothers Ferox are human. Ancient Roman gladiators. And people make fun of them. But not for long. Because they'll literally cut you off at the knees. I liked that.

Fair play to "Spartacus: House of Ashur." The foundation is a bit silly (Ashur gets resurrected and put into an alternative universe) but I love its Brothers Ferox. I think this was the first time when people with dwarfism were presented as a legitimate lethal threat. Bastards but great fighters.

I'm quite enjoying the progression from Taylor Swift sitting in a booth to cheer a boyfriend was a multi level marketing scheme to fool people into liking the NFL to Bad Bunny is the NFL not understanding what is popular
I think people are really underestimating how much the NFL would like to pull Bad Bunny fans towards football
I’ve got no problem with people boycotting the SB halftime show—I think the offense taken is nonsense, but if you’re offended, yeah boycotted it, cool—but I can’t deal with the insistence that the NFL is going to lose massive audience by showing the most popular entertainer in the world

ICE told nurses this Minneapolis man “purposefully ran headfirst into a brick wall.”

What actually happened is that they pulled him from a car, beat him so viciously with a steel baton that he had 8 skull fractures, 5 life-threatening brain hemorrhages, and couldn’t remember he had a daughter.

Remember how Anne Rice had that Mayfair Witches series of books where literally every male human was a pedophile? I mean I loved her books, but that's definitely still true.

America covering up sexual violence while shoring up the systems which perpetuate it is the norm, but we usually at least pay lip service to some idea of safety from sexual brutalization

One of the most sickening realizations I've ever had came when it hit me that six hundred years from now historians will be writing things like "while technically illegal, intercourse with minors was broadly accepted as normal among the American ruling class, and even a marker of status"

I can't remember if I told you, but I used to unironically believe Bill gates was the antichrist when I was in middle school, because I saw The Omen and was like "the sea he rises from is information actually probably" and we'd just gotten AOL

Trump once again ties the murderboats to Minnesota.
I swear this clip is not edited. Trump pivots from downplaying the killing of Renee Good and Alex Pretti ("two people out of tens of thousands and you get bad publicity") to in the very next breath claiming "we've been very tough on the waters," leaving Tom Llamas baffled ("the waters?")
