Invest in #greeneconomy not airports, #proportionalrepresentation. Everyone is a 1st class person! Everyone has their own "obvious"! If all vested interest groups worked together we could have have decent standards for EVERYBODY.

Tax holiday flights(no VAT /fuel duty currently) dont expand airports which UK cash overseas; invest in #greeneconomy (solar, wind, batteries etc) & sustainable transport systems. Get ppl out of cars and planes & onto ebuses/bikes or walking. Good for them, the UK economy AND planet! #r4today

I counted 6 uses of the "c" word in Prof John Curtis "analysis" of Gorton and Denton ie "working class". Ill-defined, pernicious & discriminatory language is of NO HELP in understanding the issues involved! Income, education, wealth etc can all be classified but NOT people! #r4today

Certainly merit in the approach. So many unhelpful inconsistencies in the tax system eg low paid pay tax to get to work (VAT fuel, duty etc) while wealthier pay no tax on cheap holiday flights (exporting UK cash overseas) or private healthcare. System needs major re-hash. #r4today #politicslive
My most - apparently - unfashionable opinion: I’d rather the UK had a lower minimum wage and a much more extensive system of tax credits.
