Is it just me or is there a more dehumanising term than "boots on the ground". Whose boots are they? Notwithstanding recent IDF actions, military people are PEOPLE too! Not just the dead we shld remember; the living ones count too! #r4today

Wld like to use Blue Sky more but dosen't seem to work very well on my PC (or I am not using properly). Anyone know a link to a good guide that maps twitter commands/fns to equiv in bsky? Yes I know I can google/AI etc but you still get all kinds of long winded rubbish! #r4today

Rather than worrying about a bit of a queue at the airport, can we not start to tax ludicrously cheap, virtually untaxed holiday flights properly; raise some cash to invest in UK; reduce demand and NOT waste billions on pointless airport expansions! #r4today #heathrow #gatwick

#nhs changes and extensions to the app sound potentially good. Hope they are given the EXTRA resource which - as any biz will know - is needed to cope with the change curve effect. They need SPARE CAPACITY to properly trial & test the new systems which often just isn't there! #r4today

A few yrs ago I had the great joy of working in Amazon style sweatshop warehouse. You had an #idcard round your neck; you scanned in/out & at the start & finish of every single "picking" or packing job. Activity lists published; those at the bottom sacked. Everyone should have one! #r4today

Expanding airports may appear to generate growth in short term BUT we spend £42 billion MORE overseas than tourists spend in UK & profits go to overseas owners. Currently almost no tax on flights while 3/4 of drive to work cost is TAX! Put VAT on holiday flights; reduce demand. #NoNewRunways #wato

Yes Europe HAS failed on defence partly because NATO was the key force & quite sensibly didn't want it's systems/communication lines etc to be duplicated. But ending THIS war thru concessions is catastrophic error; Putin and others will see USA retreat as a big opportunity. #newsnight

Yes it is a very difficult decision but without USA conventional strength Putin can do whatever he likes. We have to pose a serious threat to Russia to scare him away and nuclear is the only option. Else we are pretty doomed to be Russian or Chinese surfs anyway! #wato

Two things Labour cld do to help 1. Put VAT on private healthcare; use cash raised to boost NHS funding. 2. Train MANY more dr's, nurses and medical professionals by cutting UNI places for lower priority degrees & use funding saved to increase places on medical courses. #newsnight
