My dearest Martha. The hot dishes have not been enough to sustain the drive on Minneapolis. We have been the subject of hate and angry looks for too long. It has cost us too much in morale.
The cold is unbearable. We are down to burning various Kristi Noem costumes for warmth.

The ethos of Trumpism is the ethos of the most pathetic schoolyard bully: I can say and do anything to you, but if you say anything back, I will run mewling to the teacher.

Just despicable liars nad snivvelers.
Homan: "I begged for the last two months on TV for the rhetoric to stop. I said in March -- if the rhetoric doesn't stop, there is gonna be bloodshed. And there has been. I wish I wasn't right. I don't want to see anybody die."

For easy reference. On the left, "agitators" and "domestic terrorists". Or the right, presidentially pardonned "freedom fighters".

Speaking of children not being able to walk to school, ICE agents are snatching kids off the streets of Minneapolis (and St. Paul!) and parents are having to form patrols to guard against kids getting abducted at pick-up and drop-off.
Gov. Landry: "I like to ask Democrats if they like their communities to be dangerous or safe. Do they want their children to be able to walk to school or do they want to worry if they send them on the sidewalks, that unfortunate violent things are going to happen to them?"

Homan's face is absolutely timeless, in the sense that it could belong to an SS commandant overseeing a "work camp," a Confederate captain gleefully selling free Black people into slavery, or a Roman centurion about to nail a guy named Jesus to a cross

The only reason Homan replaced Bovino as the face of the occupation is because his lies are more polished and he doesn’t dress like a member of the Third Reich in public. But the policies and the state instigated violence remain unchanged.
CNN: How did we get to a place where we had Bovino having Border Patrol agents stopping citizens in interior of the country, asking them ID, creating fear? Who made the decisions to allow this kind of operation to proceed?

HOMAN: The reason for the massive deployment is bc of the threats & violence

The name calling was too much. Sure, we spent millions to protect our agents’ bodies, but all that tactical gear can’t protect their feelings.

Reality check from Rex. The Republicans have no intention of reining in ICE. It's up to us to stop them.
How many times are news organizations going to fall for the utter claptrap of Donald Trump, his administration or the Republican Party at large changing tone? Collectively, they have one tone: rage. It’s their oxygen.

My column:

Trump isn't 'softening' on ICE. Just ask Minnesota. | Opinion
The latest bit of political wish-casting is that President Donald Trump is 'pulling back' or 'lowering the temperature' in Minneapolis. Yeah, right.

ICE's decision to just leave cars abandoned in the roads is one of those dystopian things that makes you recoil in shock when you encounter it.
A legal asylum-seeker who works at Chipotle and plays music at a church in Maine went missing. His pastor searched and searched, eventually finding his abandoned car with the keys on the floor.

ICE grabbed him. No criminal record. No explanation.

As a strong civil libertarian, I have no problem with masked secret police entering homes without a warrant, detaining American citizens without cause, collecting biometric data about protesters without permission, or shooting protesters.

"In theater" pretty much sums up what they think they are really doing in MN.

10 years from now these goons will take a drag on their Marlboro, order another Coors Light, stare into the distance, and say gruffly, "Yeah, I served in the Icebox."

Q: Can you be specific about how many ICE and CBP agents are currently operating in the state?

HOMAN: 3,000. There's been some rotations. They've been in theater a long time. Day after day, can't eat in restaurants, people spin on you, blowing whistles at you. But my main focus now is draw down
