I think we're going to win for a variety of reasons, but making it a reality starts with elevating leaders who are not Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries. They are actively harming the opposition and helping the administration tighten its grip on the country.
this crystallizes why, despite truly heroic solidarity and activism, i can’t quite get in the “we’re going to win” mindset right now. the harm is so active and there’s so much violence we don’t even know about. people are being turned into ghosts.

Peter Yazzie was held for several hours in metro Phoenix, but there are reports of Native people detained in Minnesota and elsewhere.

Senate Democrats absolutely have to shut the govt down to stop this ICE insanity in the Twin Cities. This is not sustainable & cannot be normalized. Any Democratic vote to provide money to the thugs who are brutalizing this community is a grave betrayal to the people here. Accountability can't wait.

My Navajo in-laws are amused, somewhat. The irony among many is I’m of Danish heritage.
Trump talks about Denmark and Greenland just now: "The fact that they landed a boat there 500 years ago doesn't mean that they own the land."

Well obviously the most important thing is that Minneapolis ICE agent is likely comfortably resting tonight in a killer Hilton suite.

I can’t really add much to the anger & disgust already being expressed today - too much literally makes my heart hurt - so here’s a selfie of our new lamb born last week. Some days I envy him.

Elected Dems don't just fail to inspire the base, they actively go out of their way to demoralize the base. E.g. caving on the budget in both March and November in exchange for nothing, with the November one being especially egregious for smothering all the good vibes from the election wins.
Next time some helpless centrist whines about “but but but the Republicans control everything” point them to this.

ESPECIALLY this part

If Trump isn't immediately impeached, charged, tried, convicted, and sentenced then we have lost our Democracy and we are living in an authoritarian regime. A regime that we the people can and will overthrow by any and all means necessary.

Exactly. Stop treating this as a protocol violation in the Senate lunchroom, like somebody (egads) switched the salad fork with the soup spoon.
Yes, this is exactly the time to demand Democrats "do something."

They can denounce Trump's actions as unconstitutional. They can state that he must be impeached and removed. They can make clear that all involved will be held accountable.

These are the core duties of a role they all signed up for.

If Georgia gets upset tonight that would be hilarious, cause that would mean the only SEC team left in the playoffs would be … Old Miss. Just as predicted! 😀

To end the year on a good note, this cute little lamb was born on Sunday. Thought about naming him Jesus cause see, the ram died in February. Turns out one of the Joe Denny males is packing live ammo for his popgun, so out went the name. So Happy New Year’s!

My wife will collect the 5 Rez dogs poop in a bucket & it’s my job to take it down by the wash to empty. Have named the spot the “Trump Dump Center” & I’m sure the honor is self-explanatory.

Obviously, Trump no longer has the stamina, strength, or ability to do all those rallies the WH told us he’d do. The fade out is going faster and faster … and it’s all downhill.

In late ‘77 a German theater in Wiesbaden was showing Star Wars in English, which the military AAFES theaters couldn’t show at the time. Movie had 2 intermissions & you could buy beer in the lobby. Unusual experience for a 13-year old (& for ‘77).
Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?

Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.
It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.

With much regret I announce that I am resigning as one of the Senators from New Mexico. I’m proud of the work and items me & my team accomplished, even if never “technically” elected.

Remember, you can take the green chile out of NM but you can never take the NM out of the green chile!
