Northern Lights from Ojo Encino, NM (as far south as Los Alamos). Was even somewhat visible with the naked eye.

Today’s New Mexico blue sky. The sheep flock I’m watching is barely visible in the center, they’re trying to sneak past me up the arroyo. A touch windy but not half bad for November.

Happy Saturday from the baby Rez turkeys! Not quite 4 months old but growing like weeds. Mrs Turkey on the left, Mr on the right. And they’re safe from Thanksgiving, no worries. They are of the Heritage Standard Bronze variety.

An immature Cooper’s Hawk bounced off the house (best I can figure) going after a bunch of Rez house sparrows in a small tree near dusk. So while it recovered sitting on the ground, I kept the dogs away. It let me get within a foot, so I got some nice cell phone pics & video.

Picked up 5 baby guineas yesterday, known as keets. They’ll join the two 8-yo adult guineas we have now. Run around, eat bugs, chew weeds, scream at visitors & ravens. None were good enough to look at the camera. Cute as babies but ugly as adults.
