I remember an article where said voters were saying what a terrible job Trump was doing in his first term, to the extent that the cuts might end up killing them, and when asked if they would vote for him again, they said yes.
I hope that I am not right, but I do not think that the GOP fucking over rural areas will result in rural areas blaming the GOP: instead they'll double-down on blaming imaginary cultural enemies and resentment/fantasy about how the cities must be worse.
