Some wise words from Adam here. The Greens have a real shot in this by-election but canvassers may be missing a trick if they aren’t explaining to voters how a Green victory will shake up Westminster for the better, rather than just saying “vote for us to beat Reform”. I hope they’re doing both!

It is the source of so many of our evils: the astonishing concentration of wealth in the hands of a very few, and the immense political power that gives them. We cannot solve our problems until we tackle it.

At the root of all our problems stands one travesty: politicians’ surrender to the super-rich | George Monbiot
There are many excuses for failing to tax the ultra-wealthy. The truth is that governments don’t tackle the problem because they don’t want to, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

I interviewed Harjeet for @newint.bsky.social last year, about how countries of the Global North need to do more to support the South’s energy transition. Awful to see this kind of sensible policy advocacy targeted by the state. Solidarity with Harjeet and his colleagues. newint.org/energy/2025/...

I am so so delighted that Cllr Ed Mundy has joined the Green Party.
This takes us up to 9 councillors at Oxford City Council.

Ed is a hugely experienced and principled councillor who will be a huge asset to @oxfordgreenparty.bsky.social

Welcome Ed!

They sing: “This is for our neighbors who are locked inside, together we will abolish ICE.”

I’ve heard from campaigners in a couple of recent council by-elections here in Cardiff that they’re finding surprising numbers of people wavering between Green and Reform. They’re obviously and rightly angry at the status quo. Time to offer them ambition and hope, not fear and despair.
Great to do this long form interview with @skynewsrss.bsky.social

We're engaging with Reform voters because they're fed up with the system - and right to be.

But instead of more division, we need to invest in communities and stop the super rich screwing us over.

I spent a lot of time in 2025 working towards this - so happy that the money is secured and the installation work will (everything crossed) start soon! Huge thanks to everyone who contributed to this effort, it’s such a well-used building and these improvements should make a real difference.
Florence Park Community Centre will be cosier on cold days after volunteers won a £35,000 grant for new insulation, draught-proofing, and replacement ceiling tiles. Solar panels will be installed on flat sections of the roof and electricity-saving insulation installed in the beer chiller room.

it's so good to hear a british politician on the main bbc news platforms actually saying this stuff though. like we just got used to it not happening for years
A Government of cowards.

Rather than tackle inequality - they've gone for pensioners, disabled people and now it's people fleeing war and persecution.

They can't get away with this.

Buses are getting around Oxford faster as a result of the congestion charge, according to Oxford Bus Company. MD Luke Marion said “We’ve already seen encouraging improvements to traffic flow and bus journey times in the scheme’s first week.”

Glad to see Nigel Farage has finally remembered Nathan Gill, former leader of Reform in Wales - found guilty of taking bribes from Russia.

Maybe he'll now remember how much he took from Putin's propaganda broadcaster Russia Today for all his TV appearances when he was a MEP?

Excited that the Oxford Congestion Charge means that the 3/3A will now run to the station!! Amongst a whole host of other bus improvements.
Oxford Bus Co has announced more frequent bus services from November to coincide with the congestion charge coming into effect. The improvements mean Blackbird Leys and Cowley will have services to the city centre every 10 minutes, while Iffley Road gets a new night bus.

Genuinely refreshing to hear a politician say these things.
No other party says the basic truth: migration is good for Britain.

The real problem? Inequality, soaring bills, underfunded public services.

That’s driven by the greed of the super rich and the Labour government who serve them - not by migrants.
