2026 ?
2+26 = 28
2026-28 = 1 998
1998 divisé par 3 (cotés du triangle illuminati) = 666
Bonne chance à nous tous.

May 2026 be better, safer, and fairer. May all that was good in 2025 be better in 2026. May all that was bad in 2025 be things we put our efforts towards improving.

This episode of Sesame Street has a training montage with Elmo trying to get good at hot potato set to the song “eye of the potato” and I just think that’s peak

87. And it felt like a slow year? To be fair I've been getting more into @aptshadow.bsky.social's back catalogue and 87 books is how many he seems to publish in an average year. (I'm 4 books deep into Shadows of the Apt, which I started two weeks ago not expecting it to be for me)
NEW: How many books did you read this year? If it was more than 2, congrats: you read more than the median American.

Read on for way more @today.yougov.com polling from me on America's book-reading habits in 2025. 1/

"my friends are too incapable of going places, I need a car to force them to get to the movie" would be a weirdly accusative projection of what people use vehicles for.

Rules are supports that make things easier. Sometimes, they'll give you a unique experience you wouldn't have found on your own.
I regret to inform you that basically all games have incentive structures.

Generally, if an object of play doesn't have incentive structures, it's a toy.

This is true and I was the only one on set excited about it (and playing the song on my phone to blank stares)
Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

When you’re a famous literary critic you can just throw out outrageous statements as obviously true facts in a little “such as” phrase and move on and no one will call you on your bullshit. Truly the dream.

You shake yourself awake in the cold North Atlantic water. You are not online. It is July of 1858. You are a baleen whale, and you have changed your mind. The future most not come to pass. The telegraph cable must break.

Anyone else getting the bug on iPhone where if you watch a video full screen in the Bluesky app the player will not close after and you have to kill and restart the app?

Me: *showering the dog, reaching for the dog shampoo*
Me: yeah! That’s the shampoo!
Dog: *looks worried yet curious*
Me: I’m sorry but there’s no real poo in it.
Dog: *stares*
Me: I guess that’s why they call it SHAM-poo!
Dog: *laughs hysterically, high-fives me*

In Iceland, books are exchanged on Christmas eve, and you spend the rest of the night reading.
People generally take their books to bed along with some chocolate.

After buying it for $18.8 billion, Walgreens' new private equity owner has eliminated paid holidays for all hourly workers on Christmas and New Year's.

Last year, Walgreens had a CEO-to-Worker pay gap of 410 to 1.

Corporate greed that would make even Scrooge blush.

My Christmas present to myself is I let myself word-vomit a post that's been rattling in my brain for days and post it to my semi-defunct blog with zero editing or thought. No "is this useful to anyone" or "am I even making sense", just words and the publish button.
