The UN and others agree that collectively run smallholdings and local agriculture systems are going to be how we hopefully get through the food part of the climate polycrisis. It would be wise to start getting that going in the US rn. I would vote Darnielle!

Also surreal to hear the 1493 papal bull Inter Caetera mentioned, which gave permission for the Catholic Church to initiate the genocides in N America. Feels like little has changed in 500 years.
This is right by the Crows Nest wildlife area and is a beautiful little marsh ecosystem that’s already seeing wells & marshland dry up from the new AI data center. It’s going to be really hard to see this continue to happen in the years ahead. ☠️

This one has probably been lost to time sadly but Fburg had an ad for Kenmore Cleaners downtown with this old ass dude saying real slow, “in by 10 dirty, out by 4:30”. I was at a party years later & someone said that dude used to kick barrels of laundry chems into the Rappahannock at the city docks.
Please share YouTube links to the most regionally specific representations of where and when you grew up. Like… local sandwich shop commercials. Footage of amateur theater productions. Hyper regional news stories. I wanna see it all.
