On this Trans Day of Remembrance, we remember the bright and courageous trans people whose lives were stolen by hatred. Their absence is felt across our city.

We will honor them by building a New York where every trans person can live safely, fully and freely.

President Donald Trump snapped, “Quiet, piggy!” at a female reporter who attempted to ask about the Jeffrey Epstein files during a gaggle aboard Air Force One.

Meanwhile, here's an example of the horrendous things found in Hillary Clinton's emails—the only story worth covering for any serious news outlet in 2016, apparently.

This email is also regarding a child who suffered abuse from a grown man.

NEW: Footage of a US citizen in Chicago being rammed then dragged from her car on her way to work.

Abducted, with no warrant, her family couldn’t find her for hours.

She was later released with NO CHARGE.

A DHS statement said she “violently resisted arrest, injuring two officers”.

You decide…

The President of the United States is threatening to go to war with an American city.

This is not a joke. This is not normal.

Donald Trump isn't a strongman, he's a scared man. Illinois won’t be intimidated by a wannabe dictator.

It seems painfully evident that we lacked legal, moral, or other justification for the killing of eleven individuals aboard a small boat in the Caribbean.

It is also entirely clear that the Trump administration, having begun by obfuscating and lying, is now simply stonewalling. They fear the truth.

Pour one out for Judge Sparkle Sooknanan’s clerks this Labor Day weekend
Can we stop to talk about how remarkable the timing was? Compliant at 1am, Judge engaged at 2am, ex parte call to the Government at 2:30am (they did not answer), TRO at 4am?

On a Sunday of a holiday weekend?!

“Pushing limits”
“Unusual”
“Redefining”
“Challenging norms”
“Boldly upending”

Sounds heroic, muscular.

Our English language already contains the word illegal. No need to craft misleading/laudatory synonyms for suspending our Constitution. In this dangerous moment, we must speak clearly.

The fact that the thing we're calling artificial intelligence *can't do math* and yet we're jamming it into programs that successfully *have done math* for decades, then warning people against using the AI to do math, seems like an excellent summary of where we are.
Good thing no one uses Microsoft Excel for anything related to legal, regulatory or compliance business functions

Proper nomenclature for the constellation of agencies providing steroidal masked men to terrorize civilians is “Tate Force,” after Andrew Tate, the Trump-favored alleged rapist. Individual agents are correctly referred to as “Tater Tots.”

It doesn't have to be this way.

Firing and demoralizing feminized jobs as enemies of the state while brazenly bribing men with violent jobs that almost instantly puts them into the middle of middle class is very basic gendered warfare. Fulfilling the manosphere’s promise.
It is insane to me that the government can find money to pay ICE agents increasingly larger sums of money, yet teachers have to buy their own pencils.

A call for comparative info and insights on advocacy groups for older adults!
AARP has historically had considerable political influence (relative, of course) in the US context. Do advocacy orgs for older adults have similar pull elsewhere? Age UK? BAGSO in Germany? National Seniors Australia?
