I put on Pod Save America for the first time in a while and in like the first 5 minutes there was a “Bluesky people” eye roll joke. I don’t really care, but I’m fascinated by who do these guys think listens to them. It’s like an NFL announcer mocking beer and buffalo wings.

The GOP literally does not have a single idea what to do with anything any more. Their biggest legislative accomplishment in two separate trifectas is? Debt financed tax cuts for the wealthy?
One of the big reasons why the GOP can't win on affordability is that they, as a party, have been so captured by special interests that they're unable to deploy their ideological solutions to the problems. They're fully tied up, and we can eat their lunches if we're nimble enough.

More American public figures should be making statements like this, IMO. Making clear that when the Trump regime acts belligerently toward European democracies, a great many Americans are on the side of the European democracies.

This beautiful child, an American citizen just like his parents, is being bullied because Donald Trump is a racist piece of shit and white supremacy feels emboldened to act without shame. This hatred is taught and it is wrong.

The US is literally the only NATO country that's ever used Article 5. Everyone else showed up.
Like... what are you even taking about???

FWIW, the one and only time Article 5 has formally been invoked was following 9/11 -- by NATO and on behalf of the United States, without it having to make any request.

We are, of course, stuck with presidentialism in my or your lifetime. But when democrats take power back from the fascists, the platform needs to be institutional reform. There are lots of things to be done, with normal legislation, to fix our broken system. They better be ready to go. Immediately.
🇺🇸 trifectas get shot at doing something

Obama chose policy (ACA). It didn’t fix the authoritarian problem

Biden chose policy (ARP/IRA). It didn’t fix the authoritarian problem

The platform must be institutional reform next time. Right from the start, as @dhnexon.bsky.social said
If we want to actually be a representative democracy, then the platform needs to be institutional reform. All the Popularism and all the policies follow from that, not the other way around.

Fuck body cams, the masks are the first thing that needs to go. Agents of the state working with the American public should be clearly identifiable. Local cops don’t get to mask.

-restricts ICE to spending $3.8 billion of its annual budget
on detention as opposed to being able to spend $10 billion
-$20 million that must be used for body cameras 1/
