Lesson learned today: Conference finals are important. Unless teams the playoff committee likes lose one. Or a team it doesn't like win one.

Conference title games preserved so advertisng dollars can be made. That's all that matters.

Herbstreit kept saying Alabama shouldn't be "punished" for a loss. If there's a benefit to playing and potentially winning the game, there also has to be a price for losing. Especially a loss like this.
