Guys, as a ex call center employee, this is fucking DESPERATION BEHAVIOR.

Pizza and ice cream once may be an entire year's planned discretionary budget for a team, they do NOT value them enough to provide common comfort. If their doing this? Their not just scared, their TERRIFIED.
Spoke with a source who told me the call volume is so high, a call center for both Mastercard & Visa is bringing out pizza and ice cream so agents don’t quite amid the rush. Long waits are causing dropped calls.

What you’re doing is working. Call MC & Visa.

Every once in a while someone days something like “I hesitate to block, because they might actually not be trolls”. Yup. But you aren’t sending them to jail, and there are 10,000,000 other people to talk to. You won’t miss them, I promise.
Remember, if someone's first social media interaction with you is rude, it will never improve from there. The nuclear block here is great, the blockee will disappear from your replies, your sight, everything. Use it liberally.

i also think they just didn’t have any cards to play earlier in the year, and schumer gambled — correctly — that republicans wouldn’t be able to get it together on SNAP and ACA premiums once he accepted that both johnson and thune have surrendered themselves entirely to the white house
i love to bag on schumer as much as anyone, and still think this leadership is overdue for a change of the guard, but i think it's hard to argue he didn't learn anything from the last funding capitulation
it is truly astounding how perfectly the Democratic plan to make the shutdown about Obamacare has worked

we've now gotten to a point where Republicans cannot stop reminding voters about their equally horrible and unpopular ideas about healthcare

My two cents is everyone gets grace from me.

Doesn’t mean that everyone who gets grace is the best person to be a senator. Maybe we can find someone who is a decent person that DOESNT HAVE A NAZI TATTOO. Seems like there should be one or two!
You all know what a huge proponent of giving grace I am.

It’s a core to my being. Finding ways to empathize and give grace to people who have made mistakes.

BUT NOT EVERYONE GETS GRACE

It is not just handed out to everyone.

Grace is NOT always justified and it is extremely not justified here

Such a good example of one piece of white privilege.

I suspect many female lawyers have similar stories about being mistaken for a paralegal or court reporter.

I also suspect black female lawyers have an entirely third set of stories about who they were mistaken for being.
So exhausting..

I don’t understand this at all. Churches WERE open, so wtf are they talking about?
I've never seen such a disconnect between Dem elected/staff/consultants and actual Dem voters.

The latter understand what's going on.

The former are awash in right-wing brainrot, hence @schatz.bsky.social blaming COVID mitigation and BLM marches for the GOP's wanton destruction of public health.

Ken knows!
This is correct. Any candidate cynically “triangulating” on trans kids is a non-starter, and now is the time to say so. There’s still so much time to advance candidates that DON’T suck.
I will never, ever vote for Gavin Newsom. Ever, under any circumstances. I don't care if he becomes the Dem nominee, he's still not getting my vote.

🚨 A very long thread 🚨

I need you all to actually come to terms with what happened last year. No, Harris did not run a bad campaign. You're just stupid. He ran on dictator shit, she ran on “He’s going to kill us all but I’m won't and here are the policies that will benefit you if you elect me”.

I think that a useful form of popularism would rest on this insight. You still have to sell your ideas to the public and find broadly popular values or desires to frame your policies. The poll chasers are wrong, but that doesn't mean you can ignore popular opinion.
One of the clearest examples I've seen of the need for politicians to lead the polls rather than follow them. People's opinions on policy are *highly* malleable in response to different messaging frames.
When Republican voters learn that the "Big Beautiful Bill" takes from the poor to give to the rich, they oppose it.

@stacibaird.bsky.social thank you for all your work with the Community News. It’s important work!

I would love to see a periodic article from a local farmer about what is happening in the fields. Not being in Ag, I drive past the fields and am like “why is there a big ditch?”

Completely unrelated. This is where the Washington Supreme Court sits. It’s called the temple of justice and it 100% feels like it should.

My hot take is that is is a bad thing to have a ghoul lose hate monger like Miller anywhere near power and if more journalists told the truth about this shit it would be better!
my hot take is that this is an inappropriate thing for a journalist covering the white house to post.
Breaking: ABC News says senior national correspondent Terry Moran "has been suspended pending further evaluation." This since-deleted tweet is the reason for the suspension:

One of the weirder things about me is that I am admitted to practice before the Court of International Trade even though my practice hasn’t involved trade work for a decade.
Fess up: most of you never heard of the US Court of International Trade before just now. (Are we sure someone didn't just make it up?)

Whose problem? Not mine. I don’t ever need to see Schumer being a do nothing or scold me because he pretends like he has no agency.

I mean it’s a problem for the country that dem politicians don’t do their jobs, but not for me
The problem is that Bluesky is still a niche platform at 1.3 Mil active users per day globally. Getting your boss to say yes to making an account and dedicating the time and effort to maintaining it means they need to see positives for that investment. A middle finger isn’t a good return.

Unfortunately for us, the one period of time recently when there was a rapid drop in wealth inequality due primarily to a tight labor market is also the time when people, notably including the online political left, were obsessed with their sense of how horrible everything is going.
