I mean, seriously, don’t threaten me with a good time.
I don't see a problem as long as justice prevails.

This was that day.

Yep. Now multiply that by several million people constantly running the faucet (and the washer too) and spouting incoherent babble constantly (not to mention plagiarizing other people’s work and turning that into the incoherent babble), and you have AI.
my problem with AI is that I lived with someone in my 20s who'd leave the faucet running and was super quick to confidently tell me the wrong thing and I just don't want to go back

Dang. Even in death Jesse Jackson is still disrupting.
Slight correction: the politically charged shirt the judge referenced was in honor of Jesse Jackson, who died today, but did not necessarily depict him.

This would not surprise me given how blue Lawrence is compared to the rest of the state. Would fit ICE M.O. completely.
If you see ICE in #LFK, report any details you are safely able to gather.

When politicians like Randy Fine spend so much of their time going out of their way to disparage minorities keep in mind: it’s because they have nothing of substance to offer you.

The drunk uncle theory.

You don’t argue with the casually homophobic uncle at Thanksgiving dinner to change his mind; you argue so that the closeted cousin at the kids table knows there’s safe people and better possibilities out there
agree with this (hah) but also think a particular mistake the left made for a long time online, and still makes to an extent, is failing to understand that the person whose mind you may actually change is the one reading the argument you're having, not the one you're arguing with
The secret to engaging in social media debate is knowing you will never win anyone over. The best you can hope for is to have people who already agree with tell you you're awesome. You might great a dopamine thrill from the righteousness of your anger! Fine benefits, all. But you will never win.

Cautionary tale: I asked Gemini to transcribe a 1-page PDF from The Morning Post from the early 1800s. I was interested in testing its accuracy.

It hallucinated a full transcription of book review that doesn't exist and then invented false citations when I asked where the review was from.

I heard Bolero coming from the tv and saw a pair of figure skaters. They weren’t Torvill and Dean. I’m old enough to take that personally.

People who parrot Nazi racist BS so perfectly are so mind-numbingly stupid about actual American history.

I'm kinda surprised he didn't change his name to "Mark Ruby" somewhere along the way.
#Florida man defends white supremacy -- even though white supremacists wouldn't consider him white enough.
The Rubio speech really is appalling, and if you haven’t read it yet, you should.

Not only does Speaker Johnson get foul of Matthew 25, he also fails to get the point of Transfiguration Sunday (that's tomorrow, y'all) in which Moses and Elijah (the Law and the Prophets) get obscured by a cloud and only Jesus remains. religionnews.com/2026/02/10/m...
Mike Johnson versus the Bible
(RNS) — Asked about the Gospel of Matthew, Johnson answered with the Book of Leviticus. There's a reason for that.

“… because civil society groups are busy with politics and won’t cause problems.”
Meta is putting a "Name Tag" feature in Ray-Bans - facial recognition through the glasses' camera. You look at someone, AI tells you who they are.
In an internal document, the company wrote that the timing is good because civil society groups are busy with politics and won't cause problems.
