It’s been over 9 months since 16-year-old American citizen Mohammed Zaher Ibrahim was taken from his bed and detained in an Israeli prison with a record of human rights abuses. His family has not heard from him.

The United States must secure his release immediately.

Black women’s concerns are consistently ignored, increasing their risk for complications & death. We can’t keep ignoring the nation’s #MaternalHealth crisis. With my Healthy MOM Act, more women can get the chance to get the proper care they need & deserve.

Black women are 3x more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes. If you wondered why, here is a clear example of the medical racism we suffer from.

It is inexcusable that wealthiest nation on Earth does not guarantee equitable care for ALL women.

The Republican funding bill for the Department of Housing and Urban Development cuts funding for civil rights enforcement by 67%.

I offered an amendment to remove these cuts, and protect all Americans from housing discrimination.

Proud to stand w/ @repyvetteclarke.bsky.social, @repshontelbrown.bsky.social, @alsobrooks.senate.gov & advocates to introduce legislation to research, treat, and prevent uterine fibroids and cancer.

There is an epidemic afflicting women—especially women of color—and we must do more to address it.

Today is Black Women’s Equal Pay Day. The day Black women finally catch up to what white men were paid last year. That's more than 6 months of additional work.

We can’t fix this without addressing racism, sexism, and structural inequality in our economy.

Republicans know that Trump is the most corrupt president in American history. They know that it has diminished respect for America across the globe. So I asked them to dig deep, and find their courage to stand up to this administration.

The Republican budget would be the largest transfer of wealth from the working class to the well off in the history of this country.

It cuts food assistance for hungry children, explicitly to offset the cost of tax breaks that overwhelmingly benefit the richest Americans.

I condemn the disturbing and despicable attack in Boulder yesterday. It is the second brazen act of antisemitic violence in as many weeks. This violence, this hatred, has no place in our society. I am praying for the swift recovery of the victims.

Happy Memorial Day! May God bless our fallen service members and their families. We must never forget their service and their sacrifice.
May 26, 2025 at 8:00 PM
This budget is shameful and cruel. It takes from the most vulnerable to profit the most comfortable. It will make the rich even richer and the poor even poorer.
May 22, 2025 at 11:41 AM
This is absolutely horrific. I am praying for the victims of this egregious attack, and their families. I hope those responsible for this heinous and hateful act of antisemitic violence are brought to justice.

Today I stood with my colleagues from NJ, in the Congressional Black Caucus, the Congressional Progressive Caucus and the @demwomencaucus.bsky.social to show our unified support for @replamonica.bsky.social

These charges are baseless and politically motivated. We won't be intimidated.

From climate change, old infrastructure, and disinvestment in vulnerable communities, millions of Americans risk losing access to one of the most basic necessities - water.

Clean water is a human right. I’m introducing the WATER Act w/ @khanna.house.gov & @sanders.senate.gov to protect that right.

Earlier today I spoke with a group of federal workers sitting-in at the Capitol to protest this administration's unlawful treatment of the workers who keep our country functioning. These folks keep our water clean, our food safe, and our medicine effective. They deserve dignity and respect.

Every attack on free speech is a sign of weakness. They're doing this because they're weak.

They're afraid of honest reporting on what they're doing because they know people don't like it, and they're afraid of the power the people hold.

It's not intimidation, it's cowardice.

The Trump administration deported a 4-year-old citizen with Stage 4 cancer and then LIED about it. His mother did not "choose" to bring him with her — she was denied basic due process and the opportunity to contact family so he could remain in the US. It's a shocking level of heartlessness.
