The expansive definition of "America" with the U.S. flag among many other nations was really nice. Good on him. Trying to find something unique and unifying to say at a Superbowl is very tough.

Highlighting the speaker who stood in front of the Surprise mayor and told him to consider what the Mayor of Ohrdruf must’ve thought before he died by suicide: “He might have thought ‘how is this my fault I had no jurisdiction over this’ maybe he said ‘this site was not subject to local zoning.’”

Never mind the jobs you had, tell me five classes you took in college:

History of Economic Thought
Ancient and Medieval Philosophy
Bourgeois Century: 1815-1914
Energy and the Economy
Science and Religion
Never mind the jobs you had, tell me five classes you took in college

Values, Technology and Society
Art and the Transatlantic Exchange
Petroleum Engineering
Poetry Writing
Marxist Philosophy (I barely scraped out a C!)
Never mind the jobs you had, tell me five classes you took in college

Sage, the Way, and Zen
Shakespeare
Religion and Modern Secularism
Creative Fiction Writing
International Political Economy

Pleasantly surprised how many of these classes proved useful later in life.

the president of the united states should not be allowed to personally loot the treasury to the sum of ten billion dollars and that this is not resulting in immediate, unanimous impeachment is a dramatic indictment of what has become of our political system
President Trump has filed a lawsuit against the IRS, in which he demands that the IRS, which he as president controls, pay him $10 billion.

This is genuinely so embarrassing
Trump at Davos: "After the war, which we won, we won it big. Without us, right now, you‘d all be speaking German and a little Japanese, perhaps. After the war, we gave Greenland back to Denmark. How stupid were we to do that? But we did it. But we gave it back. But how ungrateful are they now?!"

Some perspective: The S&P opened down -1.3% on Trump's Greenland saber-rattling. That's $750 billion of wealth destroyed -- roughly equal to estimates of the value of Greenland.

And so ~in dollar terms~ his shenanigans have already cost the US one Greenland, and we've got nothing to show for it.

I can only imagine that this will divide his base.
The Trump administration has discussed offering asylum to Britain’s Jewish population, a lawyer for the president has said.

Robert Garson, Trump’s personal lawyer, said that the UK was “no longer a safe place for Jews” ⬇️

As a principled libertarian, I believe that anyone who doesn't immediately do what ICE says should be shot dead. And as a principled states' rights advocate, I believe that the federal government should not allow states to prosecute these shootings.

Trump has somehow managed to not only shred the Constitution and shatter international norms but also betray his propagandists who were celebrating the end of authoritarianism in Venezuela, leaving the same people in power so he can baldly loot the country.
This uhh lady down there who Marco had a really nice phone chat with is gonna do it for us. Won’t cost a thing.
