Divorcing an abusive husband made me an abolitionist eco-feminist. There is more revolutionary politics in inner family systems therapy than you realize. I love reading & writing sci-fi, fantasy, romance, poetry, and comedy.

If grief is love persevering, anger is love looking for action. Feeling anger and grief under capitalism is the surest sign that you are a person who refuses to numb your capacity to love.

If you have toxic family members who need to remind you that family matters more than anything, and you owe them your loyalty...no you don't. "Unconditional love" means loving through tough circumstances, not enduring abuse.

It's ok to cut those people off.

People are making fun of the Pope for this but I think it is actually super cute and I love it
Pope Leo XIV told students not to use artificial intelligence for homework, saying that AI ‘won’t stand in authentic wonder before the beauty of God’s creation.’

Remember your favorite creator possibly might be struggling with imposter syndrome and doubt and this timeline sucks.. so if you find yourself thinking “wow I really relate to this persons work” or that persons work gives you joy, you should probably tell them. It’s a hard time to be a creative.

Are we at the point we can just recognize that capitalism is an extension of monarchy and feudalism, not even really a correction or evolution or next step?

So my adoptive mom threw the"well you know, your mom could've aborted you" at me today because she's tired of my "attitude". I told her "I am pro abortion to the point of being fine with having never existed." That pulled her up short. I don't play this game. With anyone. 🥚

People love to pretend like pastel QAnon and RFK and anti-vaxx moms are just a function of bored privilege and ignorance, but the reality is much more complex.

These anti-medical birth movements cross class and race lines and exploit very real gendered trauma from medical sexism related to birth.

"We understand the world better if we tremble with it. Because the world trembles every which way. It trembles organically and geologically...with the climate—that we know.

But the world also trembles through the relations that we have with each other. "

To be fair, humanity didn't make this choice.
A tiny minority did.

And they can have their power and wealth stripped away from them.

A better world is possible.

Reconciliation without reparation is one of supremacy's greatest sabotages of the act of repair. Whenever abuse is exposed, it offers free exoneration to the abuser at the expense of the abused, and calls it redemption. It's the traditional and popular response to abuse in our supremacist society.
Leaders of a Minnesota church community didn’t report a parishioner they knew had sexually abused girls for year.

They told his victims that once sins were “washed away in the blood of reconciliation,” they could never speak of them again.

Truly chilling, from @jlussenhop.bsky.social & Andy Mannix
Young Girls Were Sexually Abused by a Church Member. They Were Told to Forgive and Forget.
In Minnesota, leaders of an Old Apostolic Lutheran Church community enabled a child abuser by telling his victims that once the sins were “washed away in the blood of reconciliation,” they could never...

My mother refused to go to therapy with me, so I’ve been processing the problems in our relationship on TikTok, where I’ve found community that is caring and supportive. The occasional non supportive comment pops up though. Let’s talk about one of them.

The way I always think about it is that human beings are fundamentally a sort of large and hairless squirrel, and the concept “I will get a million squirrels in my army—without using nuts, though” is kind of absurd on its face.

for some, it's more appealing to get off the couch for a group that can move 1000 people to do anything (march, chant, make art projects) than 10 people who'd be doing something more effective in the alternate universe where 990 others joined. the solution to this isn't a critique of art protests

I mean, why do you think such a high percentage of grassroots activists are retirees? We're the only ones with the time and the commitment to our local communities.
I try to avoid "real organizers vs. fake/keyboard organizers" framings for the most part but one thing you learn quickly from organizing is how difficult it is to get people to do anything at all, how much you're competing against sociologically. people are overworked and tired

What this reveals is that for most people in charge right now “AI” is less useful as a technology than as a piece of language to shift a conversation in whatever direction they need it to go. In one minute it will propel a new economy; in another it’s the reason for a recession.

I can reassure the New York Times that networks of mutual protection, and misogynist retaliation efforts that benefit abusive men at the expense of the young women they prey upon, are very much still intact post-Me Too.
This is nauseating: “As the emails stretch through the years, they show how that protected realm vanished into the mists of time, pulled under by the rising forces of the internet and the #MeToo movement.” A “Gone With the Wind” framing for sexual abuse and harassment.
Seriously, what is wrong with these people?

It's a mistake to value independence (not relying on others). Better to pursue autonomy (the freedom to govern yourself), which requires INTERdependence. Folks can't freely take risks and be their truest selves without robust support from the rest of society.
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.
