I'm old enough to remember seeing videos like this and immediately think "man, it must suck living in that country". Congratulations Republicans, we're the shit hole now.
Some protesters have reported being hit with rubber bullets close to the scene of a reported shooting in north Minneapolis involving federal agents in the area of W. 25th Street and Lyndale Avenue N.

There's no coherent argument for invading or buying Greenland, and when Trump tried to say one to NYTimes it came out as gibberish from a condo salesman about the pride of ownership.

It's basically the same as declaring war on Germany to "own" Ramstein Air Base. No upside, immense downside.
The Greenland fixation feels like a personal insult to anyone who's spent more than about five minutes thinking about national security. "Hey, let's demolish our most valuable alliance so we can get get access to arctic territory we already have access to!"

Please understand what it means when journalists are evacuating their family members out of town.

In any other country, we would be approaching "foreign sanctions" territory
We evacuated our kids out of Minneapolis this weekend and my spouse reports that as she drove them out of town she saw "multiple freeway exits where people are being pulled over." It feels like the Twin Cities is being subjugated by a hostile occupying force.

A Black man named Keith Porter was shot and killed by an ICE officer on New Year’s Eve.

Marimar Martinez was shot five times by an ICE officer in Chicago who went on to brag about leaving seven holes in her body.

This is not new but it is expanding.
Your reminder that what happened to Renee Nicole Good is something that happens regularly in America. This is not new, but it is an expanded version of militarized people targeting Black people in particular.

From ICE detention to murder with impunity, we've been doing it. Now it's broadened.

I won't circulate that awful video, but it’s very telling that the first thing the two ICE agents do after the shooting is pull up their face coverings—as if all they need to do to mask their behaviour is to mask themselves, as if their anonymity is a shield against all accountability.

AOC: This has now become what we feared most about ICE for a long time—that it would be used as an anti-civilian force with no accountability. At the end of the day, what we saw today was a murder, and murders in cold blood need to be prosecuted.

2025 comes to an end.

It’s been a strong year for deployment and innovation, but a worrying one for energy politics.

Moves like the US pause on offshore wind show how quickly progress can be undermined by polarised debate.

Here’s hoping 2026 brings calmer, more evidence-based energy policymaking.

I am just going to keep posting that the TX governor recently pardoned a political murderer.

The dude texted "I'm going to shoot protestors", then went and shot a Black Lives Matter protester. He was convicted in a jury trial.

Hard to find a more blatant example of celebrating political violence.

Whether you donate money, phone bank, or write postcards, every action counts.

We need Democrats in ALL 50 STATES to support these races.
