I've generally enjoyed #TheDiplomat, but S3 is just too damn melodramatic. Will they/won't they got super tiresome. All of these people would have bleeding ulcers if they lived every single day like this, despite the time jumps. I preferred the slightly slower buildup of S1. Do better, please.

I hope people are doing at least a bit of history reading, and how the Gestapo and SS evolved as an arm of Hitler's party. Trump has already done that, in effect, by firing everyone he could and putting in incompetent cronies. But I'm sure there's more to come.

1. We do not know the motive of the shooter. The man who shot at Trump was after attention.
2. The man who murdered MN legislators WAS motivated by politics, and I didn’t hear any Dems calling for reprisals against all Repubs.
3. It’s easy to start a cycle of violence. Not easy to end one.

It is entirely possible to be respectful about the death of a person you disagreed with without “honoring” him by vowing to continue his disagreeable, hateful “work.”
The best way to honor Charlie's memory is to continue his work: engage with each other, across ideology, through spirited discourse. In a democracy, ideas are tested through words and good-faith debate — never through violence.

If I were younger, I might've returned to fight for American's professed values, the ones that, yes, are still aspirational. Even so, the US was a better land before Trump, his Gestapo and his sycophants dismantled what it stood for. As it is, I've never been happier to be living somewhere else.

Got four "favorite" #WNBA teams this year (seem to add one a year) and sometimes it's hard to pick a side. The league is improving so much year-to-year that it's difficult to watch all the games I want to watch. And Lobo and Ruocco continue to excel. Now if only the officiating would level up...
